We have been proudly offering telemedicine in Wyoming (and many other states) since 2018! Glad to see increased awareness and adoption.
I’m proud to share that our research demonstrating the usability of telehealth as a healthcare delivery modality for rural low-income patients is published in the Journal of Patient Experience. This represented a collaboration between the Wyoming Department of Health and students and faculty at the University of Wyoming. #telehealth #medicaid

A recent rapid scoping review has highlighted key barriers and enablers in weight management for individuals living with overweight and obesity in English-speaking high-income countries. Notable obstacles include healthcare providers' limited knowledge and the low prioritization of obesity management in primary care settings. Additionally, fragmented services and restrictive eligibility criteria hinder access to weight management programs beyond primary care. To address these challenges, the study identifies critical enablers such as developing consistent policies, enhancing healthcare provider education, and securing increased funding for comprehensive care. A systemic approach is essential to manage rising obesity rates and reduce related health burdens effectively. In the meantime, there are also providers such as InstaClinic who are focused on helping patients lose weight in the most affordable way possible. We would love to help you! A recent study highlights the financial challenges faced by adults with obesity, particularly regarding the affordability of prescription medications. Analyzing data from the National Health Interview Survey (2020-2022), researchers found that 8.3% of adults with obesity engage in cost-related prescription drug rationing, compared to 5.9% of those without obesity. Cost barriers are especially significant for individuals with cardiovascular disease (CVD), where the prevalence of rationing rises to 10.3%. The high cost of glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs), exceeding $1,000 per month, underscores the urgency to address insurance coverage gaps, which disproportionately affect Black and Hispanic communities. We believe that the costs of medications can be reduced with programs such as Good RX, prescribing generic versions of medications, and utilizing compounding pharmacies for GLP-1RAs like semaglutide. Let's talk about your health and money. Go to www.Instaclinic.com to register as a patient, or contact us for more info. Read full article here: https://lnkd.in/gyxbdpEF

Have you had your Vitamin D level checked lately? Vitamin D supplements may have a promising role in managing blood pressure among older adults with obesity, according to recent research from the Endocrine Society. In a study involving 221 participants, researchers explored the effects of vitamin D supplementation at doses of 600 IU/day and 3,750 IU/day. Vitamin D deficiency is a global issue, linked to various health concerns such as heart disease and hypertension. The findings, published in the Journal of the Endocrine Society, indicate that vitamin D can help decrease blood pressure in this specific group. Of course, weight loss also helps lower blood pressure. We are ready to help you with your blood pressure through weight loss and can order a Vitamin D level to ensure you are not deficient.
