Was at an agriculture/energy/water event at UCSB College of Engineering on Wednesday. The agricultural community tends to lean against anything labeled “ESG”, “climate change” and definitely “GHG reporting”. But guess what? I’ve never listened to panels that so fully engage with adaptation to climate risk and that so clearly understand the hindrances and opportunities related to decarbonization or sustainable water management. I learned things every time someone opened their mouth (what climate conference can you say that about?). I walked away understanding the complexity of their/our paths forward at a much more practical level. Amazing new connections and happy meetings with favorite people didn’t hurt. Thanks for engaging Jeff Crank, Carl Evers, Jeffrey Steen, Jesse Tootell, Zac Ellis, Jim Dunning, Don Cameron, Eric Masanet, Daniel Hartwig and thanks for arranging Agmonitor Inc.
