Anything that is combustible that also touches the home can be a wick for a fire to reach a home.

Insurance is about helping people in an extreme time of need. Like Superman landing during the chaos to save the day. But are we the heroes we think we are? Would our clients think that? What does it take to be the hero our clients deserve? Eric McTighe of Sovereign Self discusses some of the questions you need to ask yourself in order to become that hero. https://lnkd.in/e96-FDYD

Every company has these folks. For the sake of your career, its best to avoid and minimize exposure to them. For business leaders, its best to root them up and out.

7 Worst Types of Colleagues To Keep Close 🚨 (they’ll ruin your career) Incredible carousel from my friend Shulin Lee 🔥 Check her out for more insights like this. Not everyone at work is rooting for your success. Some colleagues are distractions at best. And at worst, they’ll pull you down with them. Here’s who to avoid: 1. The Gossip King/Queen ↳ Thrives on drama and loves to spill secrets ↳ If they gossip with you, they’re gossiping about you too 2. The Bare Minimum Enthusiast ↳ Coasts - doing just enough to stay out of trouble ↳ Their lack of drive drains team morale, including yours 3. The Chronic Complainer ↳ Finds fault with everything, even office snacks ↳ Negativity is contagious - protect your mindset 4. The Credit Snatcher ↳ Eager to take the glory for work they didn’t do ↳ Make your contributions visible to the right people 5. The Over-Sharer ↳ Turns team meetings into their own therapy session ↳ Their drama will derail your focus 6. The Passive-Aggressive Saboteur ↳ Smiles to your face but secretly undermines your work ↳ Spot the signs early and set firm boundaries 7. The Blame Dodger ↳ Never takes accountability and always finds a scapegoat ↳ Don’t let their failures become yours You don’t choose your colleagues, but you do get to choose who influences your growth. ♻️ Repost to help someone protect their career. ➕ Follow Dora Vanourek for more.

What’s my advice for producers in the P&C space for how to be successful? The advice would look similar to this. Coincidentally we will have more on this toooc in our Sunday newsletter (but glad to have found this post today to add to our message)
CEO & Cofounder of LION Specialty | Helping Underserved Financial Institutions Access Global Market Insurance Solutions | Specializing in Corporate Liability & C-Suite Personal Asset Protection
25 years and 10,000,000,000+ in client premiums placed, this advice has worked best for clients. It doesn't come from secret formulas. It comes from being oddly obsessed with the fundamentals. And putting in the time. Here are 10 obsessions that transformed how we’ve served financial institutions: (but work in any industry) 1. Hyper Focus on a Niche ➜ Get so good at your clients' world that you can spot their challenges before they do (and know exactly how to solve them) 2. Listen Intently ➜ Build solutions around what clients actually need, not what you think they want 3. Know the Global Market ➜ Work every market you can (US, Bermuda, London for us) because the best solution might come from somewhere unexpected 4. Build Strong Cross Industry Partnerships ➜ Turn relationships with decision-makers into better deals for your clients (just yesterday, had 5 great calls with our reinsurance friends about this) 5. Perfect Risk Profiling ➜ Really understand how both sides think (brokers, know your underwriters' world; underwriters, get how brokers present to clients) 6. Champion Claims Advocacy ➜ Choose carriers who've proven they do the right thing; what looks good on paper needs to work in real life (eat and breathe it!) 7. Leverage Data and Technology ➜ Use real data to make smarter decisions faster (and cut out all the unnecessary BS…don’t manipulate the data either!) 8. Stay Ahead of Change ➜ Help clients see around corners (like we're doing now with AI regulation updates in our newsletter - see my feature section) 9. Deliver Excellence ➜ Create coverage that actually does what it promises when claims happen. (Fit for purpose!) 10. Always Do What You Say ➜ Put clients first, consistently - everything else flows from this The last principle might seem simple, but "Put clients first, consistently" could be the most important four words here. (IMHO) What do you think? Which principle resonates most from your experience?

The tea leaves were beginning to show that this might happen and it did. A smooth June1/July1 reinsurance renewal season will continue to create a tailwind towards reduced rates.
Recent reinsurance renewals have shown lower average rates on January 1st, largely influenced by various factors such as trends in specialty lines. This shift has favored buyers, as reported by reinsurance brokers. The broader perspective reveals that the reinsurance market is at a turning point, characterized by a substantial supply of deployable capacity leading to decreased risk-adjusted rates for the first time in this decade, according to AM Best's report. Coupled with the growing accessibility of alternative capital in the developing cyber market, this signifies a significant change for both reinsurers and insurers. Industry experts have noted the impact of these developments. Tom Wakefield, the CEO of Gallagher Re, highlighted the positive outcomes in the nonlife primary insurance market due to improved pricing in property, casualty, and specialty areas. Meanwhile, Howden Re emphasized the shift in the reinsurance sector, moving away from a period of rate increases driven by crises, towards a phase marked by abundant deployable capacity and a fresh cycle. https://lnkd.in/eQQF4Zve

We often see athletes take a deeeeep breath before they are about to shoot a critical free throw or take and at bat. That deep breath is purposeful In this latest article by Andrea Wise & 🇺🇸 Nick Lamparelli - they discuss how purposeful breathing calms your nervous system and allows you to execute. So whether you are pitching for millions of dollars from investors, or making a key sales pitch, or the conference presentation of your life, purposeful breathing, like the way athletes do, will help you achieve superior execution. https://lnkd.in/eVeMgtE5
