    Building Bridges with Design

This week I had the opportunity to attend the #NMSDC event, and focused on interacting with 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀 and exploring how Intelligaia’s human-centered design and engineering capabilities could align with their goals. 👉 https://lnkd.in/ewA3aVxb 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗗𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝘀 - key strategies was to understand each company’s goals and objectives, and it proved effective. - tailoring conversations by sharing Intelligaia’s certifications, our value proposition, and our unique approach to designing digital products. Companies like #Apple and #Pfizer had thoughtful setups for vendor interactions that stood out. Apple, for instance, facilitated a structured interaction through a well-designed approach: 1. Vendors received a printed sheet with questions and sample answers to communicate their offerings in a set of 14+ categories from Marketing to Int/Ext Silicon Modules. 2. They were encouraged to record their responses in front of an iPad, creating a streamlined, memorable experience. 3. All of this happened seamlessly within Apple’s booth, showcasing a commitment to #human-#centered interaction. 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝘀: 𝗛𝘂𝗯𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 inspiring example came from #𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗔𝘁𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮 - supports entrepreneurs by connecting them with hubs and guiding them through application processes. - reach entrepreneurs through #webinars, #meetups, and #mixers Chance to hear from Macaire Eidson, M.Ed, NBCT from Keecha Harris and Associates, Inc., who emphasized the importance of 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗲𝘀𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗿-𝘁𝗼-𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴. - Her framework for designing spaces that enable sharing lived experiences and collective problem-solving - Building collective knowledge and putting it into actionable solutions 𝗞𝗲𝘆 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗮𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀 - Financial fluency to understand Capital Markets - 𝗘𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝗔𝗰𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (ETA) stood out as a valuable mindset shift Sharing a few sketches I did in between the meetings :)

Designing Experiences that Empower People • Co-Founder @ Intelligaia • Balancing Innovation and People-Centric Design

A few days ago, I had the joy of experiencing a senior photo shoot for my son. The photographer even followed up with a handwritten thank you note—a small gesture that left a lasting impact. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗼𝘀 𝘁𝗼 ‘𝗳𝗿𝗮𝗺𝗲’—𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝘀𝘁, 𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀. But when it comes to our minds, the most precious real estate of all, why do we often let everything—good, bad, and messy—occupy it without pause? Why don’t we take the time to sift, frame, or even reframe our thoughts? 𝗜𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝘄𝗲 𝗴𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝗺𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀? 👉 Just as our mind space is reflected in our physical spaces, it also holds power over us—shaping our emotions, actions, and experiences. 👉 As a designer, I’ve learned to apply the same frameworks we use in product design to my mental space: auditing, reframing, thoughtful ideation, iteration, and creation. It’s a process, but it’s rewarding. 𝗡𝗼𝘄, 𝗜𝗳 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗜 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗮𝗺𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗲𝘁 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁 𝗜’𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗼𝗻...

    Building Bridges with Design

Think of design as the 𝗳𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, not the finishing touch. When treated as a luxury, you risk missed opportunities, higher costs, and frustrated customers. 𝘿𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙜𝙣 𝙞𝙨 𝙡𝙞𝙠𝙚 𝙖 𝙨𝙚𝙖𝙩𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙩. - You don’t realize how important it is until it’s too late! Invest in design early and watch how it drives innovation, simplifies complexity, and improves your bottom line.

    • If an organization sees design as a luxury, it’s a missed opportunity. Design should be viewed as a core component of strategy, shaping not only how products are used but also how businesses grow. When done right, design transforms not just user experiences but also business outcomes, making it an essential, not an extra.
  • Thriving in resource-constrained environments - we often rely on creative, low-cost solutions to solve day-to-day challenges. #WhatsApp's role comes into discussion a lot as a powerful example of how a simple, accessible tool can transform the way small and informal businesses operate. It's core features like messaging, photo sharing, audio notes, and groups are enough to facilitate a small business. For businesses, big #goal is just to #getthingsdone whether it's confirming an #order, responding to a customer, or organizing a #delivery. We use this learning to streamline everyday tasks without overwhelming people. WhatsApp’s #frictionless onboarding, easy UX, and universal accessibility (even in low-connectivity areas) make it the go-to app. Reduce any friction in adoption and usage is 101 for any product design and development that we do. WhatsApp's core features can be used in countless ways, depending on the person’s creativity. We talk about design/code reusability - what about repurpose features for unexpected use cases. Have you seen WhatsApp (or any other tools) used creatively for business?

  • Shifting role of design allow more teams, especially data teams, to actively participate in solving complex problems. The goal? Design systems that deeply understand human behavior and feel invisible to the user. By partnering closely with data engineering teams, we can collect, analyze, and act on user behavior data, ensuring UX/UI constantly adapts to changing behaviors. Key data insights we focus on include 1. click patterns 2. bounce rates 3. session durations 4. heatmaps 5. A/B test results 6. user feedback 7. eye-tracking studies 8. behavioral analytics This data informs critical design choices, from layout changes to refining user flows, all aimed at reducing friction and creating intuitive interfaces. What about driving real business outcomes? Tangible improvements like higher conversion rates, better retention, and reduced bounce rates. Of course, this approach isn’t without its challenges—data overload, misinterpretation of metrics, and over-reliance on data can risk ignoring the more nuanced aspects of user behavior. The key is balance: starting with basic analytics and A/B testing, fostering a data-driven culture in design, and gradually increasing our reliance on user insights to make informed decisions. By building this balance, we not only improve user experience but also align design with measurable business results.

  • There are opportunities in discovering hidden assets, untapped behaviors, or overlooked tools and using them to create something far more engaging or effective. Look at what a small, active segment of your target audience is doing 👉 maybe they’ve found an unintentional way to use your product. Build on that insight. Create a subconscious nudge 👉 soft audio plays when a task is halfway done, or subtle color changes as a people progresses through the flow, giving them emotional feedback without demanding their attention This is one of my favorite concepts #Google’s hidden games in Chrome during "no internet" situations engage users—simple, unexpected, and fun. 👉 Hide special features or surprises in your product that only curious users will find. Start by asking - what else could this be used for?
