Denise Lindberg, a respected judge and advocate for international judicial development, was recently honored with the J. Clifford Wallace Award. Named after J. Clifford Wallace, the most senior Latter-day Saint judge in the United States, the award recognizes those who have made significant contributions to advancing the rule of law, particularly on an international scale. Judge Wallace is renowned for his dedication to strengthening judicial systems worldwide, a legacy this award celebrates. For Lindberg, the honor is deeply personal. “It’s a huge honor,” she shared. “Judge Wallace is incredibly well-regarded, and he leaves huge shoes to fill. Being recognized for some of the work I’ve done internationally is gratifying, to say the least.” Lindberg’s career has been defined by a commitment to serving and supporting judiciaries across the globe, particularly in Latin America. “When they told me about the award, I reflected on why I do this work,” she said. “You go and do these things because you believe—in helping other judiciaries, in giving back. This kind of service? I can’t think of anything I would rather be doing.” Her journey to the judiciary, however, was unexpected. “I never planned on law school or the judiciary, but God led me here,” Lindberg reflected. Now, she embraces the opportunities it provides to empower others. “I love the opportunity to serve, especially in Latin America where there is so much potential. To give people not just inspiration but the tools to succeed—that’s the work I feel incredibly blessed to do.” The J. Clifford Wallace Award stands as a testament to Denise Lindberg’s impactful contributions and her unwavering dedication to fostering justice and opportunity around the world.

International Center for Law and Religion Studies reposted this
