Halloween, in its various forms, has been celebrated for thousands of years in countries all over the world. It has become the holiday for candy and pumpkins. According to published statistics for the U.S. only, we buy approximately 600 million pounds of candy for Halloween each year.  But did you know that us humans aren’t the only ones with a sweet tooth?  In 2024, IIC will purchase nearly 10 million pounds of byproduct candy and chocolate, and the vast majority of that is fed to pigs, dairy calves & lactating cows.  That’s a lot of sugary substance that has been upcycled and repurposed.  So, enjoy the Halloween candies; our animal friends will be celebrating too!  😊 #IIC #InternationalIngredient #halloween #animalnutrition #upcycle

We are happy to announce Dr. Katie (Kathleen) Barry has accepted a new position within International Ingredient Corporation as Global Quality and Nutrition Manager. Dr. Barry’s expertise in animal nutrition, knowledge of regulatory and product registration requirements, and experience with manufacturing processes will be valuable tools for her success. Today is #WorldFoodDay World Food Day was founded in 1979 by the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) to increase awareness of world hunger & poverty and to inspire solutions for world change.  This year’s World Food Day theme is: “Right to foods for a better life and a better future.” Sadly, hunger still persists for an estimated 10% of the global population. On this day of October 16th, #IIC celebrates our food industry vendors, our animal agriculture customers, our global distributors, and our own IIC employees for making a difference!  Together, we are helping to feed the world.

This year we celebrate The International Companies’ 50th Anniversary!
