I'm often heard saying, "I've been part of the International Institute for Analytics (IIA) since before it existed." This journey began when I was just starting my career in #DataAnalytics and had the privilege of hearing Tom Davenport discuss his 2007 book, "Competing on Analytics." That moment was truly career-defining. Fast forward to 2024, and I eagerly embraced the opportunity to lead IIA's Analytics Leadership Consortium (https://lnkd.in/eqyU-cZF). It has been an incredible honor, and I am continually inspired by the insights and knowledge shared by Data & Analytics leaders from diverse industries. A heartfelt thank you to IIA, Jack Phillips, Dega Westerhoff-Mason, and all the amazing clients and partners of ALC. Looking forward to another year of learning and collaboration! Scott A. Data engineering platforms are like refineries—designed to process raw data into usable formats for various stakeholders. Traditionally, these platforms were geared towards backend efficiency, not customer experience. However, with the rise of generative AI, the focus has shifted to serve actual end users. This evolution emphasizes collaboration between experience design (XD) and data engineering (DE) teams. This article, by Anne Nasato, P.Eng shows how aligning DE work with user needs results in agile, responsive platforms that enhance the customer journey and thus become "persona-driven".
