The International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS) was established in 1889 during the First International Congress of Psychology in Paris. With 93 National Members, 7 Regional Members and 19 Affiliate Member organisations, IUPsyS represents over a million psychologists worldwide. As the global voice of psychological science, IUPsyS' mission is "the development, representation and advancement of psychology as a basic and applied science nationally, regionally, and internationally".

Dr. Gutiérrez is the President of The International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS) and has worked extensively in the fields of psychological research and teaching. IUPsyS currently represents over 100 psychological organisations, and over one million psychologists worldwide! We are honoured to have his presence at Asia PLAT 2024. The International Union of Psychological Science (IUPsyS) is pleased to announce a further Call for the 2024 IUPsyS Archbishop Desmond Tutu Achievement Against the Odds Award. The Archbishop Desmond Tutu Achievement Against the Odds Award seeks to honour a researcher or team of researchers who succeeded in conducting research under extremely difficult circumstances, involving great personal risk or hardship, for the greater good of scientific research, the scientific community, and/or the publicat-large. This Award is related primarily to resilience in the context of extraordinary challenges; particular importance will also be given to the long-term impact of the work in question. Final nominations must be received by April 15, 2024.
