At INTRUST, volunteerism is often a team activity. 2024 was full of visits to local food pantries, a Habitat home build, deliveries for Meals on Wheels, blood drives, and more. We’re looking forward to the opportunities 2025 will bring!

The article accompanies the ‘Wichita-Area Banks by Market Share’ list. Thank you to our customers, employees, and strategic partners for your continued trust and support. It takes a lot to launch a small business, and it can be hard to know where to start. That’s where Spark Academy from CREATE CAMPAIGN INC comes in. Since 2015, the program has helped connect hundreds of minority business owners with the information, strategies, and resources to make the journey less intimidating. Twice a year, we enjoy hosting three sessions for each Spark cohort. One of those sessions is bookkeeping. “It’s the financial story of your business,” Jake Welch, senior accountant, tells the entrepreneurs. "It tells readers of your records — such as auditors, investors, and lenders — whether your business is profitable, and shows them assets you own and liabilities that you have to pay. Additionally, by writing a detailed financial story through bookkeeping, you can stay organized, prepare for tax time, and make informed business decisions.” Jake says he enjoys hosting this session because it helps break down barriers to entry and makes it easier for entrepreneurs to get their questions answered. “Somebody may think, ‘I can’t do bookkeeping on my own, and I have to pay a lot of money to have this done,’” he says. “In reality, there are simple steps you can take to keep your finances in order when you’re just starting out. We also discussed important things to look for when hiring an external accountant as your company grows.” Thank you, Create Campaign, for all you do, and thank you to our employee volunteers!
