Member Spotlight 🌟 Ryan Jacobsen, PharmD, BCPS 🚜 Ryan Jacobsen grew up in Elk Horn, IA. (He planned to become a farmer!) After a chance encounter with a local hairdresser who recommended pharmacy as a career, Ryan attended Creighton University and earned his PharmD in 2002. 🏥 Ryan currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy and Clinical Pharmacy Specialist at the University of Iowa Health Care’s Heart and Vascular Center. His clinical role involves collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to manage patients with cardiovascular conditions, providing consultations on medication-related issues, and contributing to overall patient care. Ryan is a passionate advocate for the integration of pharmacists in clinical settings. 🚲 Ryan is active within his community, supporting various junior cycling groups. 💡 Ryan is also currently serving on the IPA Board of Trustees as Vice Speaker of the House!

Yesterday, Iowa pharmacist and IPA member Brett Barker was sworn into the 91st General Assembly of the Iowa Legislature. Representative Barker serves the people of Story and Marshall Counties in District 51. Rep. Barker is serving as Vice Chair of the Health and Human Services Committee and on the Commerce, Economic Growth and Technology, and Natural Resources Standing Committees.
