Happy holidays from all of us here at Iowa Workforce Development! Offices will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, and Thursday, December 26, 2024. Offices will reopen on Friday, December 27, 2024, with regular business hours.

The holiday payments schedule for unemployment claimants is now available. To prepare for several upcoming holidays, claimants who receive unemployment benefits via direct deposit will now see payments post to their accounts three business days after the issue date, instead of the standard four business days. Debit card payments will still take the same number of processing days (three working business days from the issue date), meaning the holidays may cause a one-day delay in payments by debit card. New numbers released on Iowa’s economy show that in November 2024, Iowa’s labor force participation increased for the first time this year as 1,600 Iowans entered the #workforce. The unemployment rate was 3.1%. Learn more about the latest labor force report at https://lnkd.in/gp9Ugakn
