🚨 Most victims/survivors of sexual exploitation, abuse, and harassment are women, but most investigators are not. The Investigator Qualification Training Scheme is changing this. We equip investigators, particularly women and staff based in the global majority, with the skills to conduct gender and culturally representative SEAH investigations. As a community and clinical nurse, Rebecca Nyokabi's role involves responding to and supporting survivors of gender-based violence (GBV), as well as raising awareness through community trainings. Rebecca’s IQTS experience highlights how the training goes beyond theory. As the Asia Pacific Safeguarding Advisor for the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies - IFRC based in Fiji, Salote Kaimacuata supports 38 national societies in the region to ensure #safeguarding compliance. Having completed the IQTS course, Salote emphasizes the importance of survivor-centered training in promoting greater accountability—both upstream, with leadership and management, and downstream, with the communities served by the IFRC and its national societies. This approach helps ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff, volunteers, and the communities they serve.
