At CES 2025, leading chip designers unveiled a range of new processors and GPUs aimed at enhancing PC performance and AI capabilities. https://lnkd.in/ed2ZHWmN Nvidia: GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs Nvidia introduced its GeForce RTX 50 series GPUs for desktops and laptops, built on the Blackwell architecture. These GPUs offer up to 32 GB of GDDR7 memory and feature fifth-generation Tensor Cores and fourth-generation RT Cores. The flagship RTX 5090 boasts 21,760 CUDA cores and 92 billion transistors. Desktop versions will be available starting January 30, 2025, with laptops following in March. AMD: Ryzen AI Max Series AMD unveiled the Ryzen AI Max series, designed to power next-generation AI PCs. These processors increase CPU and GPU core counts and introduce a unified memory architecture that allows allocation of up to 96 GB of system memory for the GPU. AMD claims superior performance over competitors in 3D rendering, graphics, and large language model inference. The Ryzen AI Max series is expected in the first half of 2025. Intel: Core Ultra 200V Processors Intel announced the Core Ultra 200V processors targeted at commercial laptops. These processors are designed to deliver enhanced performance for business applications, though specific details were not provided in the available sources. Qualcomm: Snapdragon X Qualcomm introduced the Snapdragon X, an entry-level processor aimed at $600-range Copilot+ PCs.
