NEMU – Nordic Ecosystem Mobility Unlimited – is about elevating Nordic Connectivity💫 The NEMU project is a project owned by Nordic+, with the partners ITS Norway, ITS Finland, ITSDanmark and ITS-Ísland, in addition to Entur AS, Matkahuolto and SFMCON, with a budget of 5 MNOK, funded by Nordic Innovation for three years from mid-2024. While it is easy and digital to use private cars or air travel to cross borders in the Nordics, planning and traveling by public transport or sea transport is fragmented and mostly limited to national borders. NEMU will demonstrate that using public transport and private transport providers to travel across the Nordics is also possible and easy. The initiative leverages existing open mobility data to enable seamless, sustainable and borderless travel across the Nordics in one go. The DYNAPORT project's productive week in Trondheim🚢 DYNAPORT project recently had an exciting and productive week in Trondheim, where the consortium attended the MTEC and ICMASS 2024 conference followed by a very productive workshop with its sister project MISSION Project. The NEMU project is owned by Nordic+, with the partners ITS Norway, ITS Finland, ITSDanmark and ITS-Ísland, in addition to Entur AS, Matkahuolto og SFMCON, funeded partially by Nordic Innovation, and with the duration periode 2024-2027. The EU's Green Deal and Nordic Vision 2030: The Nordic Region will become the world's most sustainable and integrated region by 2030. Although using a private car or flying to cross borders in the Nordics is both easy and digital, planning and traveling by public transport or sea-based is fragmented and mostly limited to national borders. It is clear that the already strong relationship between Finland and Norway, highlighted this week by Finnish President Alexander Stubb's state visit to Norway, continues to grow. Nordic+ is a driving force in electrification, automation, and digitalisation within the transport sector, and our cooperation must deepen to meet the challenges ahead. Nordic+ and COO Jenny Simonsen (She/Her) Simonsen from ITS Norway emphasises the importance of taking clear, tangible actions to elevate transport and mobility to the top of the agenda and mind. Nordic+ calls for action from CEO Håkon Haugli of Innovation Norway, CEO Lassi Noponen of Business Finland, the CEO Jan Larsson from Business Sweden, and other Nordic and Baltic innovation and financial organizations as well as our transport ministers: Let’s prioritise mobility and transport by leveraging electrification, automation, digitalisation, and data standards to create a robust, safe, and resilient transport network across land and sea. This focused collaboration will give more opportunities for our companies and provide a stronger platform to position the Nordics as leaders in sustainable transport solutions.
