Art Pharmacy x WELL Article: A Culture Prescription I’ve always believed that art is one of the most underutilised tools in our cities. Beyond its visual engagement, art is a powerful medium for connection, expression, and healing. I’m so proud of our article with the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI), the global authority on health and wellness in the built environment. Together, we’re showcasing how art can play a pivotal role in creating spaces that prioritise the health and well-being of the people within them. Art has the power to elevate our daily lives, and I’m passionate about showing how it can reshape our thinking about health and well-being in our built environments. In this article, we dive into the tangible benefits of integrated art in the workplace, highlighting positive impacts such as: 💠 Fostering Creativity and Innovation 💠Building Identity and Culture 💠Enhancing Overall Wellbeing 💠Facilitating Engagement and Collaboration 💠Create a Sense of Ownership and Pride 💠Showcasing Inclusion and Diversity We also highlight the impact corporate art collections can have on the artists themselves. Corporate spaces offer invaluable opportunities, showcasing artists' work to diverse audiences, including professionals and visitors, far beyond the reach of traditional galleries. These placements often lead to ongoing collaborations, such as rotating exhibitions or themed collections, providing both creative opportunities and steady income. The benefits of integrating art into workplaces are undeniable. Art has the power to transform more than just spaces—it transforms experiences. By embracing art, organisations create inspiring environments for their teams and provide invaluable opportunities for artists to thrive and innovate. Thank you to WELL Certified for collaborating on this article with us and advocating for the transformative power of art to create healthier, more inspiring spaces for people to thrive. Last Wednesday, I had the pleasure of hosting a panel focused on social impact at the GRESB Regional Results and Insights event in Sydney. I was grateful to the team from GRESB (especially Sarah Blankfield, Trey Archer, and Steven Pringle, CFA) for the invitation and to Justine Felton from Stockland and Michael Traill from For Purpose Investment Partners for creating and engaging and interesting conversation. It reinforced the work that the International WELL Building Institute (IWBI) and GRESB are doing in partnership (led by wonderful folks like Kelly Worden, Chris Pyke, Sarah Welton, Matthew Trowbridge, etc.) to elevate the role and measurement of social sustainability, and provide helpful resources to members. The event saw the farewell of Ruben Langbroek - an absolute legend of our industry and our region, who will be hugely missed, not just for his jacket, his trumpet, and his wit, but his ability to bring people together and create an environment of collaboration. Go well, mate! Here are some other quick insights: ❇ Oceania is the number one region in the world again! We were second behind Asia at the Prelim Results stage, but ended up on top again ❇ India is the fastest growing region for GRESB globally (42%) 🇮🇳 , and Asia as a region showed the strongest year on year growth at 15% 🐉 . There were 21 new entities reporting from Italy 🇮🇹 ❇ 2024 represents over 200,000 assets, representing over US$7 trillion ❇ GRESB is in the process of launching a specific survey for Residential - this will be the first time that they have a sector specific survey ❇ A number of our WELL at Scale members were recognised as either global sector leaders or regional leaders. This included: Cbus Property (a big winner), Capitaland, Dexus, Swire Properties, Lendlease, Champion REIT, Charter Hall, Empire State Realty Trust, and Veris Residential ❇ For a nice little summary of some of the data, check out this article from my old mate Devan Valenti: https://lnkd.in/gSQh3Pex Photo cred: Daniel Kukec
