We urge all network builders that have received funding through BDUK to make sure they know where their fibre is deployed and advise that this infrastructure is open for use by other companies.   AssetHUB’s #BDUK Project Gigabit-compliant trading platform for buying and selling infrastructure and services helps network builders map their assets and allows approved ISPs and other network builders to gain access to their networks securely. This offers those that have not received BDUK funding an alternative to building more fibre and for companies that have already funded their network roll-out, they can generate additional revenue by selling unused fibre and space to others.   Thank you for covering the news, Mark Jackson at ISPreview.co.uk. https://lnkd.in/eFC5Bm8T

From education to economic development, fast broadband speeds are essential for any region to thrive in the current digital landscape. As local authorities rush to deploy new fibre infrastructure to satisfy the demand of their residents, The AssetHUB is offering an alternative to digging up roads and creating congestion problems. Our platform for buying and selling infrastructure can help local authorities map out their assets and existing infrastructure – including street furniture, pipes and ducts – that they can repurpose or allow others to use to lay new fibre. Learn more about our platform that is currently used by Dorset Council UK to fuel its ambitions for improved digital connectivity in the region here: https://lnkd.in/g7s6KmUM

Access to a new, highly secure fibre network that is set to meet Greater London’s digital demands of the future is being enabled thanks to AssetHUB’s marketplace for buying and selling connectivity infrastructure.   Businesses, network builders and operators can use AssetHUB’s platform to securely access this unique fibre network that offers new paths for increased resiliency and highest levels of physical security. It also cuts the distance between the region’s major data centre hubs between North Acton, Docklands and Heathrow, enabling the lowest latency for next generation applications. The service will initially provide dark fibre and wavelengths of 10G, multiple 10G and 100G services with the potential for 400G in the future.   Contact us to find out more about this opportunity and how we can streamline the process for buying and selling available duct and poles, dark fibre and high bandwidth wavelength and ethernet services here: https://lnkd.in/e2vN8bs9

An estimated 100,000km of taxpayer-funded fibre cables in rural and hard to reach areas in the UK worth over £1.4 billion could be left underutilised due to a lack of visibility, despite open access being a condition to receiving the funding for the original deployment. Failing to promote and enable access to these networks is holding back plans to ‘level-up’ remote communities across the UK and prevent unnecessary overbuild.   This funding has been made available through Building Digital UK (BDUK), which has already granted government subsidies for broadband networks in places including Cornwall, Cumbria, Northumberland, Yorkshire and East Anglia, as part of the government’s flagship £5 billion Project Gigabit programme.   AssetHUB is urging all network builders that have received funding through BDUK to make sure they know where their fibre is deployed and advise that this infrastructure is open for use by other companies.   Read the full press release and learn about how AssetHUB can help uncover open access fibre networks through its marketplace for the buying and selling of telecommunications assets here: https://lnkd.in/ea5SpgKg
