Protect Your Hardscape This Winter! ❄️🧊⁠ With more winter weather on the way, it’s important to take the right steps to keep your hardscape looking its best. Here's what to use and avoid during snow and ice season:⁠ ✅ DO Use:⁠ Magnesium chloride or calcium magnesium acetate de-icers – they’re gentler on stone and concrete.⁠ Plastic shovels or rubber-tipped tools to clear snow without scratching.⁠ 🚫 DON’T Use:⁠ Rock salt or sodium chloride – these can corrode surfaces and cause cracks.⁠ Metal shovels or ice chippers that can damage hardscape materials.⁠ A little care goes a long way in preserving the beauty of your outdoor spaces. Stay safe and protect your investment this winter!

🌳 It's Giving Tuesday! 🌳 So today, we want to take a moment to highlight the incredible work happening at the Hotchkiss Community Center in Richmond's Highland Park neighborhood. This transformative project is being led by Capital Trees, with JRN serving as a proud subcontractor through EXACT Stormwater Management.⁠ ⁠ Here are some highlights from last week’s Volunteer Day and the impact this project is making:⁠ ⁠ A New Urban Greenspace:⁠ This project is transforming two acres of treeless turf into an inviting urban landscape, complete with walking trails, shade trees, a pollinator garden, and native shrubs and perennials.⁠ ⁠ Community-Driven Volunteer Efforts:⁠ Last week, Capital Trees hosted a Volunteer Day, welcoming about 40 employees from Republic Services of Richmond to help plant 35 trees on the grounds. JRN’s team collaborated with Capital Trees to ensure proper horticultural techniques were used throughout the event.⁠ ⁠ Generous Support from Republic Services:⁠ This initiative received a significant boost from a National Neighborhood Promise grant provided by the Republic Services Charitable Foundation. Their generous support is helping bring this vision to life.⁠ ⁠ Stay Tuned for the Finished Product!
