About us

I am a strategic and community minded practitioner who is passionate about designing from the margins. I love reimagining systems and ways of working so they work for the many vs the few. I have successfully led DEI strategy and programming at Amazon, Meta, and Tandem Diabetes Care. I root my DEI consultant practice in collaboration, community, and making data informed decisions. I support both individuals in their allyship and inclusive leadership journey through my coaching practice, along with offering consultation services to organizations and businesses to create equity and impact-minded solutions that drive inclusive results that meet your individual and community goals. I look forward to working with you.

How I feel while I've been migrating my newsletter while taking care of two sick babies and nursing myself back to health too. But O.M.G. am I excited for this next chapter! I can't wait to switch, flip, and reverse it. It's to be a community of joy and heart-centered, approachable conversations that welcome everyone to the table. You are valuable, just as you are. ✨ But we don't hear that often enough, in said or unsaid ways, as we go through our careers. So we try to fit into boxes that don't fit us, like round pegs trying to fit into square holes. I was chatting with the current Rising Leaders cohort about this topic this week. The pressure to conform to and please those who have the power to hire us is real. But the question is if we need to change core elements of ourselves to work somewhere: - Will that ultimately be a place we will remain? - Will we find a career aligned with our values? - Will we feel empowered to bring our natural strengths to the table? Chances are no. And the toll it takes on us in the meantime is real and measurable. Some organizations will embrace you just as you are. They exist. I've seen them and been in them. Don't settle for mediocrity. ❤️ ___________________________________________ ♻ Repost to remind others 📨 DM to learn more about working together ➕ Follow me for more content like this

I've recently welcomed many new people to my community, so it feels like a good time to re-introduce myself. Hello! My name is Jaya (she/her/hers) and I am the woman behind Jaya Mallik Coaching & Consulting. 🇮🇳 I am a first-gen South Asian mother, partner, and friend. 🏫 I am an educator, community builder, researcher, and DEI advocate. 💜 I center underrepresented women and communities in my practice. 🤩 I am a lifelong learner and joy-seeker, seeking to uplift others as I grow. ➕ I've been fortunate to lead DEI efforts in some pretty amazing places, but that is not the sum of all my professional parts. 👻 I really like talking about ghosts and fall 🍂 I am humbled that you've decided to join me on this journey, and I'm grateful we get to learn together. Welcome. ❤️ What would you like me to know about you? ___________________________________________ 📨 DM to learn more about ways we can work together ➕ Follow me for more content like this

  • Meet the first member of my team: Kaitlyn Elting, MSW ❤️

I help you grow your equity & inclusion muscles so everyone can thrive.

When I launched my practice full-time eight months ago, I made a quiet promise to myself. I made a promise that as my practice grew, I would find opportunities to uplift others and share opportunities. This is the first time I get to make good on that promise. Everyone, meet Kaitlyn Elting, MSW. 💜 An alum from the first cohort of the Rising Leaders Program. 💓 And the new Community Manager of the Rising Leaders Program. Do you know what makes the Rising Leaders Program different from other coaching programs? After the six-week coaching program, everyone remains in our Slack community. No one is removed. Because if you're an underrepresented woman in corporate America, you're already white-knuckling it alone most of the time. The last thing I will do is take the safety of this village from you. Kaitlyn will be tending to and building up this community, ensuring everyone has what they need, and sparking joy along the way. If you're interested in joining Kaitlyn and me in our October cohort, reach out. Link is in the comments. 🥰 You belong here.

I'm never letting go of this wish for all of us. ✨ 💛 You deserve to be your full, beautiful, unapologetic, brilliant self wherever you go. 🧡 Whatever team you're on. 🧡 Regardless of who your boss is. 🧡 Whatever company you choose to work in. - You deserve to feel seen. - You deserve to feel connected, safe, and supported. - You deserve to be celebrated, where your ideas are heard and respected. We already know it makes business sense; that's been talked about enough. 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝘁. I hope you never forget that you are worthy of it. ___________________________________________ ♻ Repost to remind others 📨 DM to learn more about working together ➕ Follow me for more content like this

What if you didn't have to navigate your career and life alone? 💗 What if, instead, it was an experience filled with the support of the community, other women who just "got it" and were ready to support you? That place exists. 🤯 Tomorrow, we're starting our third cohort. If you had told me that 8 months ago, I'm not sure I would've believed it. But here we are, building this community intentionally, cohort by cohort. With women who: - Are ready to lead with their values and authenticity - Feel motivated to succeed despite obstacles - Want to be the representation they don't see - Believe in supporting other women as they rise If this sounds like the kind of women you want to be surrounded by, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲. Enrollment for our October cohort is officially open. 🎉 The link to the program page is in the comments. Join us. DM me for more info or to set up a time to chat. ❤️ ___________________________________________ ♻ Share so others can join 📨 DM to learn more about Rising Leaders ➕ Follow me for more content like this

We're losing the thread, my friends. 🧵 This weekend, I was dismayed to see many online creators from marginalized groups ripping into each other over election politics. On this platform and other platforms. 💔 It hurt my heart to see how unkind people were being to each other. ❤️🩹 Especially since the world can be unkind enough to us already. ✖ When we start slinging insults and personal attacks at one another, it makes us no better than the people who sought to exclude us in the first place from places of power. 🌐 To change systems and reality, we have to recognize that while your priorities may not be the same as mine, 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝗼𝘁𝗵 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀. 😢 People are hurting in many different ways right now. How can we move collectively to improve all of our realities? We're better than this. Please stop doing the work of the oppressor. ❤️ Note: There is a typo in the quote - it should say, "You do 𝗻𝗼𝘁 have to be..." Human error. 🙂 ___________________________________________ ♻ Repost so others can learn 📨 DM to learn more about working together ➕ Follow me for more content like this

Belonging is more important than we think. I have worked in some of the best and worst cultures throughout my career. According to the BetterUp coaching platform, companies that foster a culture of belonging also experience: - 56% improved job performance among employees - 50% lower turnover risk - 75% fewer employee sick days So aside from the moral case of it just being the right thing to do by people, 𝗶𝘁 𝗾𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀𝗻'𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝘅𝗰𝗹𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗰𝘂𝗹𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲. Having worked in organizations where I have felt that deep sense of exclusion, I remember having to divert my energy from work and innovation to: - Scanning virtual and in-person rooms to find a "safe" person to connect with - Feeling unsafe to share my honest opinion or suggest a different approach - Having to constantly anticipate microaggressions and being prepared to respond - Staying ready to defend underrepresented employees from aggression - Constantly advocate to be present at tables I should be at anyway due to my role If you're seeing signs of this in your organization, as a leader or an employee, it's time for us to talk. It's never too late to turn a ship around, if you actually want to turn it. 🛳️ ___________________________________________ ♻ Repost so others can learn 📨 DM to learn more about working together ➕ Follow me for more content like this

  • Don't forget your power.

I help you grow your equity & inclusion muscles so everyone can thrive.

Being married to a South Asian Englishman, this weekend hit hard in our home. There is so much I want to say about what happened this weekend in England. But anything I say wouldn't adequately capture how I feel or wouldn't be constructive. And that isn't in line with my values. So the only thing I will say is this. The British Empire has only continued to stand on the backs of the 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆. I say 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆, because I especially want all my Black and Brown brothers and sisters to remember your power today. You are the 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆. China, India, Brazil, South Korea, Thailand, the Philippines, Russia, and Malaysia have been marked as the emerging economies of the world. Did I say England anywhere in there? 🧐 Remember who you are. ❤️ ___________________________________________ ♻ Repost so others can be reminded 📨 DM to learn more about coaching ➕ Follow me for more content like this
