  • What's been doing good for 30 years? The Jennie Edmundson Foundation! We kicked off our 30th anniversary year - that's 30 years of compassion, impact, and changing lives - with a popcorn celebration for Methodist Jennie Edmundson staff! This anniversary is all about celebrating the heart and soul of what makes Jennie great. We'll be spending time over the next year honoring the past, celebrating the present and looking ahead to what the future will bring! We can't wait for you to join us!

  • Our neighbors often have barriers to receiving the healthcare they need. Whether it's navigating a devastating diagnosis, managing medications, finding transportation to and from doctors appointments – or getting plugged into the services that they need – Caring for Our Communities is there to help those in southwestern Iowa who need it. Tomorrow is Giving Tuesday. If you’d like to help those in our community who need help – your friends, your neighbors – consider making a donation to Caring for Our Communities via the Jennie Edmundson Foundation tomorrow or any time during this giving season. https://lnkd.in/gC7rWD9h

    • Image shows a gift with a plant on top. Above the package, text reads “Support Your Neighbors: Help us ensure that no one is left without the are and support they deserve this holiday season – and beyond – by supporting Caring for Our Communities.”
  • We are so proud of the students from Nebraska Methodist College's Master of Occupational Therapy program, who are doing their field-work at New Vision Homeless Services in Council Bluffs this year. This partnership was formed through the Jennie Edmundson Foundation's Caring for our Communities program! It's just one of the ways this program helps us impact the health of those in need in our community! Thanks to WOWT for sharing the good news!  https://lnkd.in/gJ3pm7G9

  • Are you upgrading your washer & dryer during the upcoming Black Friday sales? We may have a home for them – provided they are still in working order! Caring for Our Communities & New Visions Homeless Services are collaborating to create a laundry services program at the New Visions Warming Center. If your washer & dryer are still working, but you’re planning on an upgrade, and you want it to go to a great cause, contact the foundation at jefoundation@nmhs.org. (Don’t have a washer/dryer but still want to help? Pass this message on to anyone who you know is planning to upgrade!)

    • Image shows a dryer with clothes flowing out of it. Next to the photo are the words “are you upgrading your washer & dryer? If they are still in good working order, consider donating them to our newest Caring for Our Communities initiative!”
  • “When people enter the gift shop, it's like they're entering a little oasis that helps them escape from whatever they might be dealing with. The Jennie Gift Shop is kind of magical that way." We love this description of our incredible gift shop. Next time you are at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital, stop by the Jennie Edmundson Gift Shop! This volunteer-run store helps raise funds for the Jennie Edmundson Foundation and provides gifts, snacks, treats, books, and more!

  • Encouraging the health of southwestern Iowa involves more than just providing medical care -it’s about ensuring that every person can thrive. That’s why the Jennie Edmundson Foundation, in partnership with other organizations in our community, created Caring for our Communities in 2014. 10 years later, the program and the partnerships are still going strong. This giving season, when you give to the Jennie Edmundson Foundation, you’ll be helping Caring for our Communities and supporting the work of the Foundation and our partners in the community. Do you want to help transform lives and connect people to the resources they need to regain control over their health and well-being? Join us! • It's the first anniversary of Reach Out & Read in Council Bluffs! This program, a partnership between the Jennie Edmundson Foundation, Firefly (formerly Family, Inc.), Reach Out & Read and Methodist Physicians Clinics, gives books to families at their well-child visits from age 6 months to age 5. Since its launch in 2023, over 7500 books have been given to families during their children's well-child visits. The Jennie Edmundson Foundation is proud to support this program!

  • What would you call businesses that support the health of their community – not just once, but throughout the year? We call them our Healthcare Hero Sponsors! Healthcare Hero Sponsors are businesses that support all of our events during the year, including Dance to the Beat, Wheels of Courage, Spirit of Courage and Pink Out! Please help us say thank you to our 2024 Healthcare Hero Sponsors - Black Hills Energy, Council Bluffs Surgical Associates, Graham Construction Company, Frontier Savings Bank, and ServiceMaster Restore by Schmader! We are so appreciative of the support you give us for all of our impactful events this year!
