JMP Sr Account Executive / Nordics ✅ I help scientists and engineers to accelerate product & process innovation

🌟 𝗖𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗖𝗵𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘀 🌟 I recently had the opportunity to immerse myself in the world of #chemometrics, starting with the #DSK2024 conference in Denmark and continuing with fascinating research on 𝗗𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗦𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗻𝘀 (#𝗗𝗦𝗗) 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘁 𝗦𝗾𝘂𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 (#𝗣𝗟𝗦𝗥), authored by Knut Dyrstad and Frank Westad. The work done by Knut and Frank has truly inspired me! 🌟 Their exploration of how bootstrapped 𝗣𝗟𝗦𝗥 can enhance variable selection in high-dimensional data is a game-changer. It’s impressive to see how they tackled the challenges of interpreting 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘅 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀, ultimately improving 𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘆 and 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿. This research not only pushes the boundaries of our understanding but also paves the way for more efficient processes in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries. 🌟 I’m particularly struck by the collaborative spirit in our field. Sharing knowledge and techniques can lead to breakthroughs that benefit us all. Let’s keep the discussion flowing—I’m eager to engage further on these topics! 🌟 I am proud to see JMP being utilized within #chemometrics. In this research, JMP was essential for statistical calculations involving 𝗣𝗟𝗦𝗥, 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝘁𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗽 𝗣𝗟𝗦𝗥, 𝗕𝗩𝗦𝗠𝗟𝗥, 𝗗𝗦𝗗 𝗙𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗔𝗜𝗖𝗰 𝗙𝗦𝗥, 𝗦𝗩𝗘𝗠 𝗟𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, and more. The methods developed for heredity and non-heredity modeling of DSD, particularly the Fit Definitive Screening Design, are tailored to effectively interpret the specific DSD structure. 𝗞𝘂𝗱𝗼𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗼𝗹𝘃𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸! Let’s continue to support each other and drive progress together. 🎆𝗔𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗿, the simulation study revealed that bootstrap PLSR significantly enhances model performance in DSDs, especially for larger datasets. Strong heredity selection consistently produced the best models, simplifying variable selection compared to traditional methods. This research highlights the value of advanced statistical techniques in refining variable selection and enhancing model precision in chemometrics. Happy to share the third and final part of our mini-series about “failed” DOEs covering lack of fit. This one is a little detective story about an initially flawed process model which could ultimately be adjusted to reveal some non-obvious process behaviour. The investigation started from a significant lack of fit test and taking domain knowledge into account and ended with a model which is not only able to point out some great improvements regarding process revenue but is also enabling the scientists in charge to contribute to hit the company’s sustainability goals. Have you ever tackled a similar challenge? Would be great to hear other stories around lack of fit.
