    Dad 🔹Influential Recruiter 🔹Prosperous Jobhunter 🔷 Committed Coach 🔹 Author 🔹 Speaker 🔷 Poet

#recruiting #coaching #jobhunt #jobsearch #success

This is key for your learning and development v's this modern working world. Curious? Then pop along to LinkedIn offices 1 Martin Place where myself and three fellow Jobs for Humanity volunteers will be running a workshop c/o SydRecMeetup. Thanks to our hosts LinkedIn and these people who are making this happen! • 4,761 jobs! When one of the Jobs for Humanity volunteers conducted a quick search using the keywords 'diversity and inclusion' on LinkedIn Jobs, they found 4,761 positions in Australia. A similar search on SEEK today returned 476 job listings. These two platforms are among the most widely used job advertising portals in Australia. This tells us that diversity remains a significant focus for businesses, even though the narrative that was prominent in 2021 and 2022 has somewhat 'died down'. There are welcoming employers out there, particularly larger organisations. Perhaps it's because they have bigger budgets and more roles to fill, so candidate experience, including diverse candidates in shortlists and offers, is important to them. Is your business one of those welcoming employers? Would you display a badge on your website to show it? Is there a difference in what can be done in a start up, scale up or an established large organisation? If you’d like to learn more about this, contribute to the discussions or simply come to show your support, and are based in Sydney, come along to our workshop on Halloween, 31 October 2024. Registration details are below! We have partnered with the wonderful team SydRecMeetup to put on this event and are lucky to have LinkedIn hosting us. We would LOVE to see you there. Thanks to these gems for putting up their hand to run the session on the day! Pooja Alpha Philip Ankit Sharma Michael Delaney (He/Him) 🚀Jo Ioannidis 🧬 HUGE thanks, also goes to to the SydRecMeet up team Sharlene Roebuck Mark Mansour Simon Townsend Jobs for Humanity, a not for profit supporting the under represented groups on their job seeking journey.

All Recruiters and hiring managers with ‘OPEN VACANCIES’, this one's for you. Do you want to cast a wider net to increase your candidate pipeline? The answer is yes, right? That unfilled role you have to find the right ‘talent for’ causes angst until you get to a shortlist! Whilst you are getting to that magic shortlist how are you ensuring the best candidate experience too? Now what if we were to add the word ‘diversity’ to this question, would you know how to ensure your hiring practices do focus on candidates from ALL types of backgrounds? What about these groups? 💙Blind or Low sight individuals 💙Deaf or Hard of Hearing individuals 💙Refugees / Asylum Seekers 💙Neurodivergent individuals 💙Single Parents 💙LGBTQ+ community members 💙Ethnic minorities /Black leaders We can help you answer that. Jobs for Humanity are teaming up with SydRecMeetup to bring some learnings into the TA and recruitment sector about what it takes to elevate candidate experience by embracing diversity. • Returning citizens' impact on the economy took the top spot in the Financial Times. With more than 150 million fully capable people who went through the justice system among whom half are unemployed, there is a lot of room to fill job openings, right here, at home. The main reason for the unemployment rate is stigma, fear, and judgement by hiring teams who haven't been educated on how to be inclusive of them or how to properly read a background check. Two extraordinary example of companies who do it right are Redemption Roasters and Checkr, Inc.. They've been expanding extraordinarily in part due to their inclusive mission and vision.

  • Does competition exist in the DE&I space? Not in our lexicon. Bridge of Hope Careers and Jobs for Humanity are joining forces. Like us, Bridge of Hope's teams come from the same under-represented communities we serve (neurodivergent, returning citizens, and more). They serve 75,000 job seekers in London. Together we're supporting close to 700,000 job seekers worldwide as well as over 60 blue chimp companies to meaningfully increase their social impact: - Hire from new diverse talent pools - Train their hiring teams on inclusive hiring processes

It's been a couple months or so since our meet up over in Melbourne, Australia as we transitioned from 🍁 Autumn to Winter ❄ . So, what is the state of play when it comes to diversity in the workplace? According to an article written in 2023 for Harvard Business Review, there are 4 freedoms at work needed for people to flourish no matter what your background is. These freedoms, are a way to truly engage each and every employee, so they feel their workplace is safe and welcoming - the basic foundations to be their best selves. When employees are their best selves, this is when they do their best work. When they do their best work, they feel productive, happy and add value. Here are the freedoms: 💙 The freedom to be authentic 💙 The freedom to grow 💙 The freedom to step back, and 💙 The freedom to fail Granting 'freedom' in all 4 forms, benefits all as well as the business itself. Agree? If you are in Melbourne pop along to our next meet up where we we will discuss this topic. We look forward to seeing you there. https://lnkd.in/g3r-DYZ9
