With joy in his heart and a bundle of socks in hand, John helped bring smiles to so many faces, reminding us all of the magic of giving. Brown and his Chief of Staff, Susan Broderick, to our office. John gave them a tour, we introduced them to our Sock Wranglers and we discussed our three-prong plan for New York State: -Disability-Owned Business Certification: Establishing a state certification for businesses owned by people with disabilities to enhance visibility and access to resources. -State Contract Set-Asides: Creating procurement set-asides to ensure disability-owned businesses have fair opportunities to secure state contracts. -Expanded Support Through NYSID: Including for-profit disability-owned businesses in the New York State Industries for the Disabled (NYSID) programs.
