On Nov. 21, the Board of County Commissioners recognized the conclusion of the 2024 United Way of Greater Kansas City campaign. The county raised nearly $91,000 this year, a 5% increase from last year’s total. United Way co-chairs Brent Christensen, director of Financial Management & Administration, and Dave Vratny, finance director with Johnson County Library, recognized the departments that contributed to this year's campaign. 🏆 The Power of Sharing award, given to the department with the highest percentage of employees participating, went to Budget and Financial Planning. Second place went to the Airport and third place went to Human Resources. 🏆 The Power of Caring award, given to the department with the largest increase in total dollars given, was awarded to Human Resources. Second place went to Budget and Financial Planning and third place went to the Legal Department. Thank you to all of the employees who participated in this year's campaign. And a special thanks to the county ambassadors for helping make this year a success!

Yesterday, the Board of County Commissioners recognized Johnson County Wastewater for winning six Peak Performance Awards from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies. Jose Leon, Director of Operations and Maintenance, presented the performance awards. These awards recognize public wastewater facilities for their outstanding compliance with national pollutant discharge elimination system permit limits.
🎉 This morning, the Johnson County, KS Government BOCC recognized JCW's awesome staff because ALL SIX of our treatment facilities won Peak Performance Awards from the National Association of Clean Water Agencies (NACWA)! These awards are for distinguished performance in wastewater treatment, and we won three platinum awards, two gold and one silver!!
