It feels amazing and she’s appreciates being highlighted for her hard work and contributions. 2.) What have you been up to recently? Mostly reading in which she just finished reading Babel by R.F. Kuang. 3.) Are there any specific goals your focused on right now? Immediate goal is to get as many scholarships as possible and go to the University of Alabama to study finance. 4.) What are your plans moving forward in life? To use all the knowledge & skills to help others the best way possible and to just live a happy life. 5.) What has been the most memorable experience at Jones Valley Teaching Farm? Most memorable thing was getting to shadow Executive Director Amanda because she got to talk to her on deeper level and to just see who she was as person. Last week, Halloween vibes were strong at the farm! 🎃👻 Students came dressed in their best costumes and dove right into some hands-on science and math. At Putnam Middle, they brewed up praline and lemon soda potions to learn about mixtures and solutions 🧪, while Phillips Academy spiced things up with a chili-making fraction lesson! 🌶️📏 Who knew Halloween could be so tasty and educational? #FarmFun #HalloweenLearning #PutnamMiddle #PhillipsAcademy 🎉

Congratulations to intern Aissatou (Woodlawn) and past intern Jacques (Woodlawn) for successfully completing the International Dual Enrollment Academy global studies program that concluded with a study abroad opportunity in Hitachi and Maebashi Japan. This opportunity was made possible through collaboration between Birmingham Sister Cities, Miles College and Birmingham City Schools. We're so proud of you two.

In August, we welcomed five FoodCorps members to our team—the first-ever in Alabama! 🎉 Since then, they've been doing amazing work in Birmingham City Schools in partnership with JVTF, teaching fun food-based lessons and getting students excited about eating nourishing food. 🥕🍎🌱 We're beyond thrilled to see the impact they’re making and can't wait for what's to come!

Second graders had a blast in our Taste Abound adventure! 🎉 They became flavor explorers, discovering the five tastes—sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami—through a hands-on cooking session. 🍽️ The highlight? Making a zesty Sweet and Sour stir-fry 🍍🥕, mixing flavors like pros and savoring their tasty creations! 😋👩🍳👨🍳
