We’re proud to support SD GUNNER FUND INC with a $25,000 grant to help pair 10 veterans in need with service dogs. Yesterday, we had the honor of presenting the check at the Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport, alongside two amazing service dogs, Hilo and Koda. Last week, we partnered with Shoes That Fit to provide brand new athletic shoes to 650 students at Moffett Elementary in Lennox, CA. Donations to support this effort came from passengers shopping at dining venues, travel convenience, specialty retail, and duty-free stores operated by Avolta brands HMSHost, Hudson, and Dufry Group in the U.S. and Canada. "Journey For Good Foundation extends heartfelt thanks to the thousands of travelers who generously donated during their journeys, enabling us to give back to the Los Angeles community," said our Director, Jordan Silverman, MBA. “Feeling good about how you look is important when you come to school," emphasized Salvador Martin, Principal at Moffett ES. Today we announce our inaugural grant cycle since the formation of Journey For Good Foundation in April 2024 — and we are thrilled to award $500,000 to 26 charitable organizations across the U.S. Journey For Good Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity whose mission is to fight poverty in the local community with food, shelter, education, and workforce development. Previously operating as HMSHost Foundation, we are building upon that legacy by continuing to fund mission-aligned organizations that feed and shelter the homeless, educate children, and supply them with the resources needed to succeed, train and coach unemployed adults, provide homes and other critical services for veterans, and supply food banks. "As the charitable arm of Avolta in North America, Journey For Good Foundation is uniquely positioned to generate positive impacts through travel retail and food and beverage by giving back to the communities in which we operate," said Journey For Good Foundation President Paul Mamalian. "In such a short time since launching Journey For Good Foundation, we have seen the positive impact that the collective efforts of HMSHost, Hudson, and Dufry can make." Yesterday was the Grand Opening of the Emma's Torch DC Cafe! It was wonderful to be there among so many community members, partners and supporters to welcome them to the neighborhood with open arms. HMSHost Foundation is proud to support the expansion of their important work providing top-notch culinary training to refugees and helping them find meaningful careers in the food industry.
