As #CervicalCancerAwarenessMonth wraps up, we're reaffirming our commitment to ending this preventable disease. Each year, over 350,000 women lose their lives to cervical cancer, 90% of them in low- and middle-income countries. The #HPVvaccine is the most effective way to protect girls and adolescents, and at JSI, we’re partnering with countries to expand vaccine access and strengthen immunization systems. Check out our most recent stories from Nigeria and Ethiopia: ◾ How Nigeria’s Ministry of Education Is Driving Sustainable HPV Vaccination: https://lnkd.in/ete_h-2i ◾ Boosting Cervical Cancer Prevention by Optimizing HPV Vaccination Demand in Ethiopia: https://lnkd.in/gDgZ374C Together, we can save lives and protect future generations. #CervicalCancerAwareness #HPV #HealthForAll #VaccineWorks

Our latest blog highlights the Federal Ministry Of Education, Nigeria and its critical role in the country’s fight against #cervicalcancer through the HPV vaccine. By leveraging school networks, training teachers as health advocates, and collaborating with local health authorities, they ensure that every eligible girl has access to this life-saving vaccine. The Ministry’s efforts are helping communities understand the importance and safety of the vaccine, ensuring more girls are protected. Meet Afodia Yusuf, a school principal in Plateau State whose leadership has helped vaccinate more than 6,000 girls surpassing the target! Together, we can create a healthier future for Nigeria’s girls. Let’s continue to build a brighter tomorrow! 💙 Read the blog here: https://lnkd.in/ete_h-2i Amos Bassi Khadijah A. HPV is a very common STI in the U.S. and can cause cervical and other cancers. The HPV vaccine is safe, effective, and can prevent up to 90% of HPV-related cancers, yet only 59% of adolescents are vaccinated. Increasing uptake of the HPV vaccine among adolescents is a top priority in Healthy People 2030. Sexual and reproductive health care providers can play a key role in the prevention of cervical cancers by increasing the uptake of the HPV vaccine. The JSI-led Reproductive Health National Training Center (RHNTC) developed the HPV Vaccine Toolkit to help providers implement key strategies to increase HPV vaccination among adolescent clients in family planning settings: https://lnkd.in/gPtxPPwQ #VaccinesWork #CervicalCancerAwarenessMonth #HPV #CervicalCancer #GlobalHealth

For over 10 years, we have collaborated with health ministries worldwide to accelerate #HPVvaccination access and implementation, aiming to enhance equity, improve quality, and expand coverage. 🌍 In #Ethiopia, together with the Federal Ministry of Health Ethiopia and Girl Effect, we are working together to expand HPV vaccination through school programs, community mobilization, and social media. We helped vaccinate over 8,200 girls in November through a multi-age cohort campaign: https://lnkd.in/gDgZ374C Our efforts are focused on reducing cervical cancer and supporting young girls in Ethiopia. Together, we’re building a healthier, brighter future. 🌟 #VaccinesWork #CervicalCancerAwarenessWeek #HPV #CervicalCancer #GlobalHealth
