According to the National Interagency Fire Center, there are currently 85 large wildfires raging across multiple states, including the Park Fire in California that has burned over 400K acres and damaged or destroyed over 600 structures. Yet, traditional solutions provided by brokers show risks within and buffered around the perimeter, leading to an overstatement of potential claims and loss as there is no distinction if those risks are actually damaged or not. At Juniper Re, we decided this is not good enough. We are changing the event response space through our dynamic catastrophe analytics platform to deliver swift, accurate insights for our clients using satellite-powered partner data. We pinpoint the damaged risks and provide our clients with a more accurate loss evaluation. Below is an example that shows 20 risks within the perimeter of the Park Fire, with 7 damaged. Our deepest sympathies go out to all affected by these fires.
