This past weekend, I had the incredible opportunity to attend NorthStar 1.0, a groundbreaking event designed to connect aspiring professionals with global opportunities and equip them with the tools needed for career success. The event featured engaging sessions with top industry experts and founders who generously shared their experiences, challenges, and lessons learned from building globally impactful startups. Their insights were both inspiring and practical, offering a clearer understanding of how to navigate and thrive in an ever-evolving professional landscape. A key takeaway that stood out for me was this: Communication is the most vital soft skill to develop when pursuing global opportunities. It is not just about speaking or writing well—it’s about understanding diverse perspectives, building meaningful connections, and effectively conveying your ideas across cultures and industries. This realization has deepened my commitment to refining my communication skills as I continue on my career journey. Events like these remind me of the importance of staying open to learning, building relationships, and leveraging opportunities to grow. I’m excited to put these lessons into practice and to keep pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. Here's to continuous growth, both personally and professionally! #NorthStar1_0 #CareerDevelopment #GlobalOpportunities #SoftSkills #ProfessionalGrowth #CommunicationMatters

This past weekend, I had the privilege of attending NorthStar 1.0, my second tech event of the year, and it was nothing short of amazing! The event was packed with super insightful sessions that left me inspired and optimistic about the future of emerging technologies in Africa. The panel discussion was particularly impactful, with speakers sharing real-world experiences that highlighted the incredible potential for innovation and growth in every one of us. One key takeaway for me was the importance of adaptability and continuous learning in succeeding in the global job market. Samuel C Dike and Chidike Nwandu 🏆 emphasized developing confidence and specialized skills by working on side projects. Another profound insight was that success in any role goes beyond technical skills—clear communication and collaboration are key to turning ideas into reality. I also got to connect with some brilliant minds at the event. Engaging with like-minded individuals who are passionate about driving change was truly inspiring. A massive thank you to KairosLabs and Kirro.ai for organizing such an inspiring event. Emmanuel John Abang Victor Ukachukwu Iyobosa Rehoboth #Innovation #Tech #AI

Last week, I spoke about how African tech professionals can easily access and thrive in global PM roles. This past weekend, my team at KairosLabs, Kirro.ai hosted a company offsite in Nigeria. It was a powerful moment for our team as we came together in person, with my co-founder Emmanuel flying in from Texas. We strategized, aligned on our vision, and worked on shaping the future of our company. But the highlight? NorthStar 1.0! We realized that too often, people attend tech events, network superficially, and leave without forging valuable, lasting relationships. We wanted to change that with a new experience. So we came up with the NorthStar 1.0 event. Key event highlights: 👉 Meaningful Connections: We provided a platform that made it easy for people to connect with purpose. Attendees didn’t just meet with each other; they bonded with the speakers over shared goals and values. The resulting metric? More than 80% of attendees (including speakers) shared that they made meaningful connections—people who not only exchanged contacts but also left excited about working together or learning from each other. 👉 Learning from Experts: We brought together industry leaders and professionals with experience at Meta, MoneyGram, SoFi, Eventbrite, Flutterwave, etc, encouraging open conversations and the sharing of real-world experiences. Attendees asked thoughtful questions, gained insights, and learned strategies they could implement right away. 👉 Accessing our Global Talent Pool: We gave early access to attendees to our talent pool that connects African tech talents with global job opportunities. We’ve seen an uptick in signups so far. It was also exciting to see and speak with my friends, Iyobosa Rehoboth Chidike Nwandu 🏆 Samuel C Dike. And members of my direct mentorship community Easy Producting. This is just the beginning of what we’re building—not just for our company but for the broader tech community.

On Saturday, I attended Northstar 1.0 by KairosLabs, and it was such an inspiring experience. I asked a question about how to speak up confidently when it feels like I don’t know enough, and Emmanuel John Abang shared some great advice on how to navigate that. We were encouraged to connect with others, but my shyness made it tough at first. I didn’t know where to start! But I ended up talking to a few people, and one question led to an amazing conversation with Kemi A.. Talking to her felt like finding someone who truly gets me. She’s doing incredible work in the XR industry with Iyobosa Rehoboth, and the conversation helped me find peace with myself. It felt like I found a professional who understood some of the struggles I’m facing. It also reminded me that I’m not alone and that anything is possible. Samuel C Dike and Chidike Nwandu 🏆 also emphasized the importance of having someone who understands your drive. They encouraged us to explore side projects as a way to open up new opportunities that we might not have in our day-to-day work. Side projects help us grow and explore different ideas. Finally, I also met Victor Ukachukwu, who is doing such amazing work with product managers, especially. Overall, it was an inspiring day, and I can’t wait to apply these lessons.
