HIMSS, the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society, annually honors individuals recognized for driving positive change within the global health ecosystem. This year, Shawn Weldin, Director of Information Technology at Sabetha Community Hospital, was awarded the prestigious HIMSS Changemaker in Health Award. This award acknowledges that Shawn demonstrates significant leadership and extraordinary contributions to the Kansas HIMSS chapter, the chapters program, and the Society. Congratulations, Shawn!

Congratulations to KHA's Director of Workforce & Health Care Policy Jaron Caffrey on being named to the Leadership Topeka 2025 class. Jaron works closely with hospitals, policy makers and agencies on building programs that enhance the health care workforce through education, upskilling and recruitment.

AdventHealth advocates to improve the health and well-being of our community. Our leaders recently collaborated with Kansas State Senator Dinah Sykes of Lenexa on strategies to enhance health care delivery in Kansas. By supporting behavioral and mental health services and bolstering our workforce pipeline through investments in allied health, nursing and physician scholarships and apprenticeships, we can better meet the needs of our community. We appreciate the opportunity to work together with government leaders at all levels to advance whole-person health care.

This initiative will help support over 50 rural and critical access hospitals across Kansas by delivering meaningful insights into productivity and staffing benchmarks that these hospitals can use to make data-driven decisions.
