About us

Kaplan Languages Group (KLG) is made up of three businesses: Kaplan International Languages, Alpadia Language Schools and ESL Education. All are recognized leaders in the educational travel sector, committed to offering high-quality, immersive language learning to students from over 100 countries. KLG is part of Kaplan Inc., which was founded in 1938 by Stanley Kaplan, a teacher and pioneer, who provided tutoring services to help students from poorer backgrounds get to university. Today, Kaplan delivers a range of programs and services, helping students from many walks of life and countries to achieve their career goals through education. The parent company of Kaplan is Graham Holdings. In 2019, our English language business joined forces with ESL Education, a well-established language travel agency, and Alpadia Language Schools, a group of schools offering French and German language programs to adults and junior learners, and summer English programs for teenagers. With our combined expertise and experience in the sector, it is our mission to provide the very best experience to the customers who choose to travel and learn with us.

Chief Operating Officer at The Kaplan Languages Group

In one of those rare and special moments when my professional and personal passions intersect to create an unforgettable life experience, I was thrilled to join my super-star KLG Marketing colleagues, Marta Grizzaffi, Andrea Salazzaro and Rosa Vila at the Royal Festival Hall in London last night to attend the European premiere of Wicked! What an unparalleled delight to walk the "green carpet" and to rub elbows with the movie's star studded cast! The evening cast a magical glow from beginning to end with attendees decked out in the suggested attire of "pink goes good with green!" Universal Pictures has once again chosen to collaborate with KLG to establish a co-branding partnership with its launch of the long-awaited, movie version of the Broadway musical, Wicked. This initiative aims to leverage both brands' reputations, expand market reach, enhance visibility, and strengthen customer loyalty. More than just a tale of magic, Wicked — the untold story of the witches of Oz — celebrates life-changing friendships, much like the connections forged during a study trip abroad. In the film, Elphaba and Glinda meet as students at Shiz University in the Land of Oz. Despite their differences, their bond transforms their lives forever. Similarly, at Kaplan International and ESL, we help students embark on transformative journeys, exploring new places, discovering new cultures, and forming friendships that last a lifetime. This alignment of themes makes our collaboration with Wicked a natural fit. I raise a glass to the KLG Marketing team for orchestrating this partnership, a monumental achievement! Particular kudos to Marta Grizzaffi for her work leading the charge on the project.

  • Today, we invite you to meet Michael Glen-Kerr, our Global Camps Manager of Alpadia!   -What is your story?  I have worked in summer schools every year since becoming an Activity Leader in 2004. I joined Alpadia in 2019 after working for a couple of our competitors! I am a bit of a study fanatic and my background is in business management.    -Would you like to thank someone in the company who has been part of your journey?    The whole team at Alpadia has been fantastic during all my time here. Everything that we have achieved over the years has always been a collaborative effort. But a special shout out to the legend that is Mattias Ysebie. He has supported me every step of the way over the last five years.   -How did you hear about your first position ?   I first heard about Alpadia from the legendary Sebastien Martinez. I worked with Seb at Embassy Summer (now part of EC). I have so much time for Seb, so his recommendation of the company made the decision to apply a no brainer 😊   -What are your hobbies or interests?   When I am not organizing the Alpadia camps you can find me parenting my two kids, studying, climbing, running or snowboarding!
