🌐 The Decentralization Dilemma DEXs are the backbone of the DeFi, enabling trustless, permissionless trading of digital assets. Theoretically they're decentralized, giving any individual the ability to provide liquidity or trade tokens. However, in practice DEXs are causing serious centralization. 🛑 The Problem - Liquidity Centralization DEXs must aggregate as much liquidity as possible to remain competitive. However, this drive to centralize liquidity contradicts the very ethos of decentralization that DeFi is built upon. The result? A few dominant DEXs control the majority of liquidity, leading to decentralized monopolies. 📉 The Outcome - Decentralized Monopolies As dominant players rise to the top, smaller DEXs struggle to compete, and innovation is stifled. This monopolistic dynamic is contrary to the decentralized vision of DeFi, where competition and innovation should thrive. 🚀 The Solution - DEXs as Infrastructure To break this cycle, we must treat DEXs as infrastructure rather than standalone applications. 🌊 Making DeFi Efficient - Letting the Liquidity Flow Many DeFi projects currently lag behind their CeFi analogues in terms of efficiency. This should not be the case; the automation and lack of intermediaries should be a recipe for success. So is DeFi lagging behind? 🛑 The Problem - Liquidity The outcome of decentralisation has been the proliferation of markets. As a result, liquidity is spread thin between these markets. This problem is compounded by slow liquidity movement that can’t keep pace with Web3 markets, forcing projects to hold liquidity in reserve with incentives. 📉 The Outcome - Inefficiency Networks compete for liquidity, overspending on incentives. Meanwhile LPs concentrate their liquidity where the rewards are highest, not where it’s most needed. This leads to an inefficient landscape of oversupplied and undersupplied pools. 🚀 The Solution DeFi needs to use liquidity more efficiently. Innovations like Uniswap V3/V4 are making strides in this direction, but new incentive models are needed. Projects should stop focusing on prioritize metrics like volume, and long-term user engagement. Mercenaries and speculators now target airdrops, undermining their effectiveness in building genuine communities. 🛑 Current State of Airdrops: While airdrops are good at creating buzz, they often lead to a "Hot Start Problem," where tokens are dumped, causing a supply shock. Farmers compound this problem, exploiting rewards and exiting quickly, distorting engagement and leaving projects with a smaller, less active user base. 💡 The Solution: Regular Issuance Events Instead of one-time events, we should be distributing tokens periodically based on ongoing contributions and engagement. Incentives should be adapted to evolving goals, targeting different demographics and rewarding various actions. Mercenary behaviour has to be mitigated in order to foster long-term engagement and activity. 🚀 Kaskade's Approach: Our intelligent points distribution technology rewards value creators continuously.
