  • While I still can't quite believe that it's already the year 2025, I am feeling so energized about how we've started the year here at Kathy Kuo Home! For the first time ever, we had a company-wide off-site to kick-off the year with a 2025 Road Map presentation from our amazing leadership team, followed by a productive and inspiring afternoon of team building and in-person connection. As a remote-work company, these times when I can bring our team together from all corners of the country are so meaningful and impactful. I want to hear from my fellow founders and CEOs about how you foster authentic bonds within and across teams, especially when it comes to the remote workplace! In the meantime, feeling grateful and motivated for an exciting and dynamic year ahead. Plus, how great is this team photo we were able to snap in KKH Design Showroom?!

  • This time of year always inspires me to reflect on everything I have to be grateful for, both in my personal life and my professional life...so it's with a heart bursting with gratitude that I'm excited to share that yours truly has the pleasure of being New York Family Magazine's December 2024 cover mom! Of course, it's so much fun to be on the cover of a magazine, but beyond that, this feature is so special and meaningful to me because I had a chance to really speak on what being a working parent looks like for me—all the joys and all of the challenges—and also to speak about my passion for connecting with fellow female entrepreneurs! I founded KKH while pregnant with my first child, so not only is motherhood built into my business, but my love of entrepreneurship is built into my relationship with my kids. I love that I can show my children what it looks like to be truly passionate about your career, and I couldn't do it without all of the phenomenal female business leaders I've met along the way who have offered wisdom, support, and inspiration. A big thanks to the NYF editorial team—Donna Ladd, Mia Salas & Jeannine Cintron —and amazing photographer Yumi Matsuo for making this project such a joy from start to finish! • We are excited to announce the opening of a new Design Showroom at 161 Hudson Street in Manhattan’s popular Tribeca neighborhood! Designed by yours truly, this 2,000-square-ft Design Showroom will offer in-person Homeowner, Trade, and Interior Design services by appointment or walk-in. Clients and customers will also be able to peruse our exclusive Custom Upholstery furniture silhouettes and swatches (come sit on the “most comfortable sofa ever”), explore expertly curated design vignettes, and enjoy in-person events for the ever-growing KKH community. From the day I started Kathy Kuo Home in 2012, New York City has been the heart and home of the business. I am so thrilled for KKH to be starting a new chapter downtown in Tribeca, a neighborhood that epitomizes style, quality, and innovation, as well as community and creativity. I look forward to continuing to grow our amazing KKH community through in-person Trade and Design services, furniture showcases, and inspired special events. Come say hello and see for yourself if you're in the neighborhood: https://lnkd.in/eHJqvSHD

  • Earlier this year, I had the honor of serving as a judge for the Diversity in Design Pipeline Scholarship initiative in partnership with the Interior Design Society. It was such a joy to get a glimpse into the design minds of the future and play a part in nurturing the next generation of brilliant change-makers and creators in the industry that I love so much! • I am so excited that, for the second year in row, Kathy Kuo Home was able to be a part of the annual Real Simple  Home! How perfect does our Regency Crest Mirror look in The Brownstone Boys' powder room design? Being able to collaborate with home and design pros across different facets of the industry—inclusing special editorial projects and show homes—is such a joy! A huge congratulations to the REAL SIMPLE team on everything they did to transform a historic Brooklyn brownstone into a modern-meets-traditional works of design magic! • I am thrilled to share that I was recently a guest on my friend Christa Pitts' Madame Founder podcast! Christa is fellow entrepreneur, founder, and CEO—she's the founder of The Lumistella Company, which created the Elf on the Shelf—and it was a joy to speak with her about the vital importance of core values, how to build strong teams, and why mothers always make excellent team members. • Last week I had the great pleasure of being part of the Hearst Collective | Perspective: Home + Design event, organized by my friends at Hearst Magazines! This event was such a special meeting of the minds from so many wonderful facets of the worlds of home, design, fashion, technology, and editorial. I was honored to speak on a panel called Commerce, Connectivity & The Rise of Conscious Consumerism—moderated by Jessica Teves of House Beautiful— alongside Chief Brand & Design Officer for California Closets Edward Leaman. Our lively conversation on the direction that commerce trends and consumer attitudes in the home space is going truly energized and inspired me, and I've been seeing so much in a new perspective ever since. It was also such a pleasure to be in the company of the other amazing panelists and moderators from Hearst! There is so much to feel optimistic and excited about at the intersections of design, tech, fashion, interiors, commerce, and culture at this moment in time, and it was such a joy to share this special morning with so many professionals in design whom I admire and look to as industry leaders, including Athena Calderone & Nina Garcia (among many others)! Finally, a big thank you to Ashley O’Brien Reilly on the Hearst Marketing & Events team for organizing a seamless and beautiful event. Photos by Sean Sime.
