About us

Our story began when Founder Kim, who, after over two decades of experience in the corporate marketing world, saw a significant need. She recognized the challenges faced by many startups and small business owners, who often found themselves in a position where they needed to bootstrap their marketing efforts after word-of-mouth referrals began to wane. Drawing upon her extensive knowledge of both business operations but also marketing and design, Kim founded KD Graphics with a singular focus—to empower and elevate businesses that haven’t yet crossed the “medium-sized business” threshold. KD Graphics isn’t your typical marketing agency. We are a testament to the belief that every business, regardless of its size or budget, deserves remarkable marketing and design support. Our mission is clear: to provide startups and small businesses with the tools, strategies, and creative firepower needed to stand out in their competitive landscape. We’re not just here to create graphics; we’re here to help you craft your brand story, establish a unique identity, and chart a path to success. • Ethics are the heartbeat of design, shaping the way we create and innovate. Design isn't just about aesthetics—it's about making responsible choices that impact people and the planet. At its core, ethical design prioritizes inclusivity, accessibility, and sustainability. It seeks to create solutions that benefit everyone, regardless of background or ability. When we stop concerning ourselves with every possible issue that may arise, we open the door to flowing creativity and lasting impressions. By embracing ethical principles, designers can build trust with users and communities. We have the power to shape a better world through thoughtful design choices. This is as simple as using recycled paper for cards or choosing local artists for office decor. It doesn't have to be complicated to be ethical! Let's design with intention and integrity, putting ethics at the forefront of our creative process. How do you make a positive impact through design?💡🌍 #DesignEthically #InclusivityIsKey #SustainableDesign

  • Balancing creativity and requirements in a creative field is akin to walking a tightrope between artistic freedom and practical constraints. As a designer, writer, or artist, you want to unleash your creative vision while meeting the specific objectives and expectations of your client or project. Here are a few tips I've found very helpful in navigating this delicate balance: Take the time to understand your project requirements as well as you can. Do a deep dive into the client's wants, needs, and expectations of the project. The clarity you get from this will help guide you through your creative process. Try to reframe any constraints you see as roadblocks as catalysts. Constraints, more often than not, push us to think outside the box and come to innovative solutions. Being able to view constraints as opportunities to grow your creativity is a superpower! If you aren't up-to-date on the current market research regarding your project, make sure to extensively research and understand the audience, trends, and any major competitors. Anything you take from that research will empower you to tailor your creative output to not only fulfill requirements, but resonate with your intended audience as well. Trust your instincts and stay true to your creative voice. While it’s essential to meet requirements, injecting your unique perspective and style into your work will set it apart and leave a lasting impact. By striking a harmonious balance between creativity and requirements, you’ll not only deliver exceptional results but also nurture your artistic growth and reputation in the creative industry. Creativity thrives within boundaries, and mastering this balance is key to succeeding in any creative endeavor. #CreativeBalance #GraphicDesign #WebDesign #ContraintToCatalyst

  • Finding your rhythm in design work is a personal journey that involves experimenting, adapting, and refining your approach over time. Here are 3 Tips to help! 1. Start by breaking down your creative process. Reflect on the steps you usually would take to complete a project. Taking the time to understand why you work the way you do will often show where you can improve by optimizing tasks. 2. Use your new and improved process to create a daily routine that offers the support you need. If there are certain tasks you're always getting stuck on or having trouble with, brainstorm ways to get through them and/or ways to ask for help and clarity. Nearly anything can be broken down into smaller, bite-sized steps. 3. Keep your workspace consistent! If you don't care about an organized space, great! But make sure the things you're surrounding yourself with stay the same. If you have a home office, add things that help make you feel calm or focused. Whether that is plants, wall decor, or a sound machine, have it stay where you put it to help your mind and body keep a routine. As much work and reflection as you may do, take the same amount of time to rest. This is all challenging mental work, and on top of deserving rewards for your hard work, you also deserve breaks. Finding your rhythm can be so very challenging, but embrace the process, stay open to new ideas, and trust in your creative instincts. I think you'll be surprised by how well you can accommodate yourself. #WorkingRhythm #CreativeDesignProcess #DesignDoozy

  • Burnout is all too real... But what we seem to see is surface-level ways to recuperate. We need more than just learning to say no and reprioritizing tasks. That just doesn't cut it. So, what can you do when you feel burnt out? Yes, take time off of work. But there are likely other parts of your daily life burning you out, so take time from those too. That can mean meal prepping for a couple of weeks even if you normally don't, so you don't have to worry about decision fatigue affecting what you eat. Take a break from social media! This isn't something I see people mention very often, but it helps so immensely. We are surrounded by social media in this day and age, we even use it to run our businesses (as we should). But even if you take a step back for a week or two, I can almost guarantee you'll get into the habit of checking less often and feeling less consumed by doom scrolling. There are other ways to help with burnout, but the best is talking to a professional. Bring up what you're feeling and why you're feeling that way and come up with a self-care plan tailored to you! A lot of self-care is setting boundaries, but it's more than just at work. It's asking for help with tasks that feel overwhelming in your day-to-day life. It's buying paper plates and plastic cutlery when dishes feel like they'll push you over the edge. When it comes to burn out, the small things add up quick. Make sure to continuously schedule you time where you don't have any responsibilities. This doesn't mean walking your dogs or taking your kids to the park. While those are absolutely rewarding activities, they still require your active attention and are big responsibilities. Take extra long baths where you lock the door and light your favorite candle. Go to your favorite restaurant and order your favorite dishes - alone. Take yourself on dates and turn your phone on Do Not Disturb. There is no One Size Fits All approach to recovering from burnout - especially if you're neurodivergent. Confer with your close friends & family and a therapist to figure out what will best help you recover and take care of yourself. Finding resources is hard! If you have any questions about this , please hit our inbox! We're happy to help and offer support in any way we can. You are never alone, especially when looking for help. #WeGotYou #Burnout #YouTime #LongPost
