Holiday breaks for most of us are a time when we release ourselves from office life for a while and enjoy not having to commute. What people don't realize though, is that this time leading up to office workers returning back from a holiday break could be a little stressful for facility managers, building operations staff or property managers. Here are a few things that might be happening behind the scenes to ensure that your office building or place of work is in tip-top shape when you return. 🔧 Inspection and repairs of any loose or leaky faucets and pipes in the bathrooms. Your building operations team is heading off potential plumbing disasters by being proactive and this could save a lot of headaches when people return after the holidays. ❄ It's possible that snow and ice could've accumulated more than usual because of the decreased foot and car traffic. There is an increased focus on ensuring that parking lots, walkways and entrances are cleared and salted in order to prevent unnecessary slips. ♨ Your building has been "resting" during the holiday break. No one has been pumping up the thermostats in their offices or opening and closing doors and windows for a bit.
