We made a visit to the U of L Hospital West Tower and had an inside look at the new operating room area where there will be 5 general operating rooms and 1 hybrid operating room. The operating rooms are one of the most complex areas in a hospital. From the air quality to equipment placement, every detail must be meticulously planned to ensure patient safety and surgical success. Here’s a glimpse into what goes into designing a state-of-the-art OR: 🔹 Air Quality Control: Air change rates, temperature, humidity, and air velocity are all tightly regulated to maintain a sterile, safe environment. The air needs to flow just right, especially over the patient. 🔹 Equipment & Layout: From surgical tables and medical gas outlets to lighting, monitors, and rolling carts – every inch of space is optimized for efficiency and safety. 🔹 Design Complexity: Designing an operating room is a delicate balance of functionality, compliance with health codes, and the latest medical technology.

The Trail Hotel is such a cool project. Congrats and kudos to all involved in bringing the world's first bourbon-infused luxury hotel to Kentucky.

Stairwell pressurization is a critical smoke control method used in high-rise buildings, aimed at maintaining a smokeproof enclosure in stairwells during a fire. It involves creating a higher pressure in the stairwell compared to the surrounding areas, preventing smoke and fire products from entering. Our team recently completed a project at the Humana Waterside building in downtown Louisville to replace fans, update the control strategy, and add Variable Speed (VFD) Fire Pump Controllers along with other measures to maintain the building's safety. Our team enjoyed participating in the groundbreaking for the new Midea America Corp facility in Louisville last week. Midea America, based in New Jersey, already has a research and development center in Louisville, and this expansion, which include more lab and office space, a consumer research center and a customer showroom, will quadruple its space.

The Front Plaza of the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts is getting a facelift. We are pleased to be working alongside K. Norman Berry Associates Architects PLLC and Haire Construction LLC on this project.

We are so excited about the new Origin Park in southern Indiana. We've had the privilege of working alongside Joseph & Joseph Architects during the design phase to assist with the site lighting for the new Event Center. But the park will offer so much more.
