  • We had a great time this past Saturday at the KEEP Farmers' Night Out Event! It was great to gather with our farmer cohort at Old 30 Dirty Family Farm in Jacksonville, NC. Thank you to all of the farmers who were in attendance, from Onslow and Pender Counties to Warren County and Yadkinville, NC, as well as those who traveled far and wide to be there, from Kansas City, Missouri to Washington State! We were able to hear about KEEP-NC success stories throughout 2024, complete a year in review of the KEEP-NC program, and hear from USDA staff about various topics. We also spent time looking ahead to 2025 and everything the new year has in store for the program! And finally, congratulations to Pender County farmer, William Smith, for receiving the Honor the Legacy award! 🥇 Thank you to Old 30 Dirty Family Farm for the pictures! #KEEPNC #ncproducers #ncfarmers #farmerjustice

  • We are currently reflecting on the KEEP-NC workshop we held with @servecommunities back in October in Jacksonville, NC at Old 30 Dirty Family Farm!🐓 This workshop brought together beginning and minority farmers and USDA staff to explore the extensive resources available and how to access them. The workshop also included two hands-on activities: seed saving and how to create your own muscadine vineyard! 🌱🍇 Other topics discussed included loans and disaster relief options, crop reports, how to obtain a farm number, equipment options, and more. We were happy to see so much engagement and so many important questions asked! The KEEP-NC program is here to support you and your farming needs. 📲To get involved, follow @servecommunities and @keepnc and subscribe to servecommunities@gmail.com to receive the weekly newsletter with upcoming events. 💻To read the full article, follow this link: www.keyenvi.com/articles. #USDA #environmentaljustice #minorityfarmers #ncfarmers #ncproducers #environmentalconsulting

  • We were privileged to attend RTI International's Black-Owned Business Fair. This event was a significant opportunity for black-owned businesses to showcase their capabilities and highlight how they can support research and provide technical services. It was also great to reconnect with former colleagues and discuss potential future collaborations. We are excited about the future prospects this event opened for us and other #blackowned businesses!
