On the occasion of World Book Day, a global event dedicated to the celebration of reading and literature, the KHAYAT publishing house was founded. Choosing April 23rd for our inception reflects our steadfast dedication to fostering cultural exchange between the Middle East and the United States. We are passionate believers in the transformative impact of art and literature. Our mission has been to carefully select and present Arab literary treasures to English readers, while also bringing American literary works to the Arab audience. As we approach our official launch on April 23rd, 2024, we are filled with pride for having completed sixteen titles in Arabic. Our path has been paved with narratives, that cross cultural divides and connect hearts and minds. We are thrilled to announce the release of our inaugural translated novel from Arabic to English: Anise Boy, by the esteemed Hsain Warour (b. 1941), available from February 23rd this year. Following closely will be River of Secrets by the gifted Foza Hilal (b. 1951). Keep an eye out for further updates, and we extend our deepest gratitude for your unwavering support as we navigate this enriching path of literary exchange. #WorldBookDay #LaunchAnnouncement #CrossCulturalExchange #ArabLiterature #EnglishReaders
