Kingpins Show

Textile Manufacturing

Global denim supply chain show with a focus on innovation, sustainability and transparency.

About us

Kingpins started out in 2004 as a tiny denim supply chain show for folks tired of the mad scramble and soul-deadening crush of handshakes and "who are you's?" and badge-checking at the huge, impersonal sourcing shows that dominate the industry. The idea was: keep the exhibitor list tight, invite only the best brands, serve tasty food, treat everyone like family and create an atmosphere that's conducive for networking and relationship-building. It worked out pretty well. We are still small, but we've gone global. You can now find Kingpins shows in New York, Hong Kong, Amsterdam and China. But we haven't let that go to our heads. We're still invitation-only and our exhibitor list is still a highly-edited selection of vendors that include denim and sportswear fabric mills from the U.S., Japan, China, India, Morocco, Pakistan, Egypt, Mexico and Europe, wash houses, full package manufacturers, trim providers and business solutions. Basically, if it's denim or can be worn with denim - we've got it. king·pin noun /ˈkiNGˌpin/ 1. (motorized vehicles) The axis around which steered wheels pivot; a bolt that holds the axis in place - a kingbolt. 2. (ten pin bowling) The pin at the center of the triangle of bowling pins (originally the tallest pin in kayles). Sometimes also the headpin at the apex. 3. The most important person in an undertaking or organization. Synonyms Most important person: big cheese, big enchilada, big kahuna, bigwig, big wheel, grand poobah, head honcho, muckety muck, top banana, top dog, big noise

Reflecting on 10 years of Kingpins Amsterdam! Last week, we wrapped up our two-day show in Amsterdam, celebrating a decade of denim inspiration, connection, and a whole lot of creativity in this beautiful city. This year’s theme, Reflection, was a perfect fit as we looked back—and forward—at the journey of Kingpins Amsterdam and the people who make it all happen. Our pop-up fashion show brought a fresh energy, with a live brass band from Ritmo Entertainment for a perfect end to day 1—mirroring the excitement we brought to NYC in July! LilDenimJean also hosted their first-ever own Denim Talk with the Lil Denim Show, and Atelier Reserve, back with Officina39, shared insights on their work together in Creative Washes Past & Future with Juan Manuel Alvaréz. The Boxes was a true highlight, from AGI Denim x Ecovative’s Mushroom Rodeo—yes, denim meets mushroom leather!—to Key Pieces from Inspiring Wardrobes by The Vintage Showroom, which showed unique pieces from the personal collections of denim community icons like Malin Eckengren and Sue Barrett. Each item was a piece of denim history and a story all its own. And as always, our Future Fits Forum Denim Talk was hit, featuring industry leaders exploring what’s next in denim. Plus, with fabrics and trims on display in our Gallery, visitors got up-close with both big brands and hidden gems in the industry—quality all around. Professor Wang of Panther Denim x Shiuse added the perfect finishing touch with the Planet Indigo Workshop, showing everyone the beauty of natural indigo techniques. We’re beyond grateful to our sponsors who made this edition possible! And while we’ll be back in Amsterdam in April 2025, we’re popping up in Hong Kong first on November 21 & 22! Thanks to everyone who’s been part of this community for the past 10 years. See you soon, Hong Kong! #kingpinsshow #kingpins #kingpinsamsterdam #indigo #denim #jeans #demiminspiration #denimjeans #denimtechnology #indigoinspiration #amsterdam

As we wrap up the Kingpins Amsterdam show, we are excited to celebrate 10 years of denim innovation and collaboration in this incredible city! 🎉 Since launching our first Amsterdam show in 2014, Kingpins has grown into an international hub for the denim industry, where companies showcase their latest innovations, meet customers, and explore market trends. This year's edition, themed “reflection,” allows us to honor our history while looking forward to the future. Highlights included our inaugural Pop-Up Fashion Show, which featured stunning denim designs from our exhibitors and set the tone for a lively evening of connection and creativity. Our redesigned floorplan placed all exhibitors on the main floor, creating a cohesive experience, while our new Green Area served as the heart of the show, hosting interactive workshops, Denim Talks, and the popular Giant Jeans photobooth. We also introduced exciting initiatives like hands-on workshops led by Professor Wang from Shuise, showcasing traditional natural indigo techniques, and The Boxes installation space for denim innovation, featuring collaborations like Mushroom Rodeo between AGI Denim and Ecovative. A big thank you to all the exhibitors, attendees, and sponsors who made this milestone event a success. Together, we are not just a trade show; we are a thriving community dedicated to fostering best practices in the denim industry. Here’s to many more years of inspiration and collaboration! #kingpinsshow #kingpins #kingpinsamsterdam #indigo #denim #jeans #demiminspiration #denimjeans #denimtechnology #indigoinspiration #amsterdam

Celebrate 10 years of Kingpins Amsterdam with a fashion show, new initiatives, and redesigned floorplan! Founded in New York in 2004, Kingpins launched its first Amsterdam show in 2014. This October 23-24, we celebrate 10 years in Amsterdam at SugarFactory with special events and a refreshed floorplan. Our theme this edition is "reflection," celebrating our history in Amsterdam. To mark the occasion, we’re hosting a Pop-Up Fashion Show at the opening-night party, showcasing denim designs from our exhibitors. While Pop-Up Fashion Shows have been a hit at our events in China and New York, this will be the first in Amsterdam, and we have more surprises in store to celebrate this milestone. This season, we’ve redesigned the SugarFactory space, placing all exhibitors on the main floor for a more cohesive experience. The Green Area on the second floor will host Denim Talks seminars, interactive workshops, and food stations. We envision it as the hub for education, collaboration, and community. Among the new workshops is a natural indigo collaboration led by Professor Wang, Shuise’s dye master, who will conduct hands-on natural indigo workshops. These will run from 11-15 on both days, with entry on a first-come basis. On the main floor, The Boxes will feature denim innovation and collaborations, including Mushroom Rodeo, a partnership between AGI Denim and Ecovative, merging denim and mushroom leather. We’ll also highlight the Future Fit Forum, exploring denim evolution, and Lil Denim Jeans, focusing on the next generation of denim creatives. A popular feature returning this season is "Key Pieces from Inspiring Wardrobes," a panel curated by Douglas Gunn of The Vintage Showroom, showcasing influential denim pieces. The Arvind Indigo Museum will return with artwork, including "Indigo Fragmented Crack" by Based Upon, welcoming attendees at the entrance. Visitors can also enjoy the Giant Jeans photobooth, where they can try on oversized denim garments made from hemp and Re-Gen cotton, sponsored by Denim Dudes and US Group. Reflecting on Kingpins’ journey, the show has become a global hub for denim innovation, connecting companies with partners, showcasing trends, and fostering community. “Kingpins is more than a trade show; it’s a community,” says Vivian Wang, Kingpins Managing Director & Global Sales Manager. “Over two days, the denim industry comes together to do business, learn, reconnect, and inspire. We are committed to fostering this community and promoting best practices worldwide.” #kingpinsshow #kingpins #kingpinsamsterdam #indigo #denim #jeans #demiminspiration #denimjeans #denimtechnology #indigoinspiration #amsterdam

We hope everyone had a pleasant Labor Day. The holiday and its labor movement roots got founder Andrew Olah thinking about the workers in our business — as well as the examples set by a pair of 20th-century industrialists working in very different industries.
