The F.M. Kirby Neurobiology Center at Boston Children’s Hospital is the largest basic neuroscience research enterprise at a U.S. hospital. Our investigators apply a developmental approach to basic and translational neuroscience research. Our community of researchers, clinicians and patients collaborate to advance knowledge and develop cures for disorders and injuries of the nervous system.

The mission of the RSZ TNC is to improve the lives of children with brain disorders via timely and efficient translation of scientific research through collaboration among Boston Children's Hospital's exceptional investigators and in partnership with the external research community. On Friday, the Kirby Center celebrated the holiday season with our annual gingerbread competition. Labs worked to build the best gingerbread creation and we had some creative creations this year, but there could only be one winner...Congrats to the Engle Lab! The Kirby Center is participating in the Boston Children’s Embrace-a-Family Program again this holiday season! This program has fulfilled holiday wishes for 3,518 families (12,419 individuals) at Boston Children’s since 2009. The goal of Embrace-a-Family is to empower caregivers to make the best choice for their family around the holidays. Whether helping to purchase a hot holiday meal or groceries, your donation directly supports families in need and gives them something to look forward to/celebrate. Funds raised through this program are used to purchase gift cards. These gift cards are then distributed to patient families in need in collaboration with the Social Work department.
