What happens on the farms during the school holidays? The work continues! Our partner- centers remain committed to keeping their farms productive, even during breaks. They find innovative ways to support their communities such as selling the surplus harvest or donating it to those in need. A good portion of the harvest also serves the centers which sometimes are operational during the holidays. By maintaining a year- round farming schedule, we ensure a steady supply of fresh, nutritious food for our students and the wider community. As the short rains season continues, we're excited to witness the next harvest and the positive impact it will have on the lives of our children and families.

How many times have you heard this? Only rich people can adopt, you have to be 35 or older to adopt or older children are too difficult to adopt? That's all a lie. Adopting can sometimes be a lengthy process but it's all meant to ensure the family and the child are well situated. The child comes first, so priority is given to the well being of the child so parents are encouraged to be patient and comply with authorities to ensure a smooth transition. You can change a child's life so take this as your sign to embrace adoption!

Every day, more families face the risk of separation. Children are taken away from their loved ones, growing up in unfamiliar environments. 'Bahati' is one such child. 💔 We're working tirelessly with case workers and our team to address the underlying issues that led to 'Bahati's' separation and facilitate his reintegration. By examining each family's unique circumstances, we can develop tailored solutions to ensure children stay with their families. 🏡 Let's work together to keep families together and break the cycle of separation.

From Institution to Independence. 'Pendo' and 'Furaha' grew up in the care of their ailing grandfather after the loss of their parents. The challenge of juggling between earning a living and pursuing their education, eventually, led to their referral to a children's home. Following the new care reform policy to embrace family and community based care, the sisters were prepared for reintegration. When efforts to locate their grandfather were unsuccessful, they were settled in supported independent living. We were inspired by how the whole community rallied behind the idea and committed to watching over them with close supervision from the children's home and local leadership. 'Pendo' and 'Furaha' are thriving, going to school, making new friends and settling within a community they can call their home. This story highlights the importance of collaboration in the reintegration journey because there is always a way to keep children within their families and communities surrounded by love.
