we've been hard at work on Klotho 2.x with significant changes coming based on what we've observed so far. The vision stays the same, the way we get there is different.
Klotho 1.x focused on letting users write plain source code and it will automatically become cloud deployable code, it's magical™️ and the results are amazing, but ahead of its time (happy to share more).
Klotho 2.x focuses on letting users describe their application needs: "I need a long running container, 1 lambda, both of them read from a postgres db, and an API that passes /api to the lambda" - This is the extent of description, and it works for all technologies and high level intents (and that's why it works great with LLMs and InfraCopilot too)
Down the line, we'll re-add the source-to-infra inference, but it will be backed by the 2.x higher level intent descriptions rather than the lower level one - making 2.x a more natural progression.
More examples and details coming soon!
