Updates

  • More than 50 local families, business owners, and nonprofits representing 22 neighborhoods applied for support from Knox Heritage in 2024! While past donations made it possible for us to award grants to 10 homeowners to help maintain their historic properties this year through critical exterior and structural repairs, there are still many more of our neighbors who need assistance. Today is #givingtuesday, and we need your support to offer more grants to the community in 2025. Donate before midnight at KnoxHeritage.org and your donation will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar up to $10,000! *Pictured: Workers complete lead paint removal before repainting the original lap wood siding on the exterior of George’s home. The 1921 craftsman-style bungalow was the first built in the Coker Buchanan development and is one of the original homes located in the Belle Morris neighborhood.

  • If you've been to a Knox Heritage event in the past year, you've likely been welcomed by enthusiastic volunteer and Business Member, Tobias Kight. Thank you, Tobias, for your volunteerism and contributions to the Knox Heritage mission! "I believe that historic homes have their own voices that tell a story about past owners, maintenance or remodels, happy humidity, sad squeaks and cracks, previous guests, and most importantly, future dreams. I joined Knox Heritage because I believe that they hear and care about all the voices, too, especially the yells of future dreams. So, two years ago, I became a Business Member of Knox Heritage to help encourage Knoxville to be more aware of how significantly history and preservation affects our future." Read more about Tobias at knoxheritage.org/news/. Interested in learning how your business can support historic preservation? Email us at info@knoxheritage.org
