At KPS, we gathered to honour this special occasion with our amazing team, reflecting on the journey of the Emirates since 1971. A modern, dynamic work environment for a global law firm. We expanded Simmons & Simmons’ Dubai office to create more space for town-hall meetings and client events. Details matter, so we made sure the new space matches the existing fit-out exactly. Getting everything done during the firm’s work-from-home period took close collaboration with our partners at Savills, Light Link, Kaprel Partitions LLC, Advanced IT (AIT), and Mart The result is 10 additional modern workspaces and a highly adaptable meeting room, all designed with collaboration and sustainability in mind. As one of the world’s largest integrated energy companies, it’s no surprise our client chose to work out of the world’s largest free trade zone. Our task was to design and build a vibrant work space that brings their brand to life while providing added functional utility. Close contact and weekly 3D site scans gave stakeholders the convenience of remote approvals, while a strong understanding of the permit process allowed easy site access and frictionless movement of materials. Materially, the finished space is as sustainable as it is stylish, with on-site recycling and repurposing of concrete, and acoustic panels made from recycled clothing. Visually, it’s ahead of the curve. Everything from the reception desk to the walkways has rounded edges and archways to signify the fluidity of fuel, lubricants, and chemicals. Other features include sensor lighting and a motion detector in the boardroom, which activates the audio-visual systems when you enter the room.
