IEEE KSYP 2024

The IEEE Smart Living Conference was the place to be to usher in the first week of November. With the theme of 'Fostering Innovation for Sustainable Livelihoods' we delved into the different facets including energy, climate, e-mobility, and my favorite track, healthcare. During my presentation, I highlighted how vibrant the African healthcare innovation space is and the immense opportunities that exist for growth and collaboration. I also got an opportunity to #mentor some of the budding healthcare innovators and was ecstatic when one of my teams won the pitching competition. Congratulations once again, Newton Muraguri 👏 The conference also provided me with the platform to share application details about the Catalyst Grant being offered by the Invention Education Program at Kenyatta University in collaboration with Rice University. The grant aims to support hardware projects addressing healthcare needs and is open to students, postgraduate researchers and lecturers.
