Honored to be representing the West Virginia Board of Examiners in Counseling (WVBEC) alongside representatives of our nation’s state regulatory boards. - An incredibly impactful learning and networking opportunity both for myself and for our state! Our CEOs had the privilege of discussing our efforts to elevate public health best practices through the Equitable Plan for Long Term Recovery & Resilience (The 7-Vital Conditions Framework). We were honored to have Dr. Somava Saha, CEO of Well-being and Equity (WE) in the World, who was instrumental in developing the nationally adopted framework, join us to discuss the importance of applying these best practices in Rural Appalachia. Yesterday was a good day 🥹 I had the privilege of continuing a heartfelt journey educating non-health organizations (especially in WV) on 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝘂𝗺𝗮 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁, a framework designed to prevent 𝘳𝘦𝘵𝘳𝘢𝘶𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯. If you are working with people and communities in WV, you should know that traditional community building strategies in places like rural Appalachia can be DANGEROUS when considering public health best practices ⛔️ 🧠 Thanks to The Element Edge for allowing us to kickoff trainings in the new facilities, everything is beautiful!
