Great event at Luke AFB yesterday. I met several people who are open to relocating to Kentucky and shared how KY VALOR can assist their transition. One Lexington native in particularlwill be working with our team to find career options as he returns home. Thanks, as always, to Hiring Our Heroes for putting on a well-run event with great candidates. -Josh

Last fall, Nicki joined Metals Innovation Initiative at the Kentucky Industry Conference for a discussion about building a strong manufacturing workforce in Kentucky - a topic closely aligned with our mission. Building talent pathways that open doors for highly skilled individuals to enter key industries like manufacturing is a win-win. Kentucky industries become more competitive and talented populations — including veterans — find fulfilling careers in the commonwealth.
At the inaugural Kentucky Industry Conference, MI2 led a discussion on Talent Pathways into Manufacturing, showcasing collaboration as the key to building a stronger workforce. The session tackled strategies to develop and sustain talent pipelines essential for Kentucky's manufacturing success. Panelists included: Brian Becker – South Central Workforce Development Board Dorian Moe – Kentucky Chamber of Commerce Foundation Nicki Stewart – KY VALOR MI2 emphasized the commitment to workforce innovation, aligning manufacturing talent with Kentucky’s economic growth goals. We reached a huge milestone last week: 100 service members placed in jobs with Kentucky employers! 🎉 Each one of these newly employed individuals received personal support from our small but mighty team in landing a job based on their career preferences, previous experience and unique interests. And we’re just getting started. With more than 1,500 service members in our pipeline, we’re ready to surpass even more milestones in 2025.

November was easily one of the most eventful months to date for our team! In case you missed it, here are some of the highlights: ✈️ Joshua traveled to Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, Eglin Air Force Base, Hurlburt Field, and Fort Drum. Since he started this fall, Josh has traveled across the country meeting talented individuals eager to make Kentucky their home! We also participated in events spanning from workforce development to Veterans Day celebrations. 🎤 Nicki presented at the Canopy Kentucky Good Business Summit as a breakout room speaker and attended the Bowling Green Small Business Summit. Molly spoke at the 3rd annual VETS Symposium in Versailles to over 160 employers and state connections. 🎉 Lastly, our team walked in the Louisville Veterans Day Parade along with several others from the Kentucky Science & Technology Corporation (KSTC). We have a lot to be thankful for as this year comes to a close!
