𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐥𝐟 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬. 𝐅𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐰 𝐩𝐞𝐨𝐩𝐥𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐤𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐮𝐩 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦. These words from Anthony Pompliano’s new book hit differently after what I witnessed over the last couple of weeks. I had the privilege of visiting two of my mentors - both serial founders who've built multiple successful companies. But what struck me wasn't just their success - it was the "winner's circle" they've cultivated over decades. In both offices, I met team members who've been alongside these founders for 20+ years. Not just employees, but partners in the journey. People who've grown from early teammates to industry titans in their own right. This isn't coincidence. It's a framework: 𝟏. 𝐖𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 - 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐧𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝟐. 𝐓𝐫𝐮𝐞 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐢𝐬 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐢𝐭𝐬 𝟑. 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 Here's what I learned: The real magic isn't just in surrounding yourself with winners - it's in creating an environment where everyone becomes one. I’ve benefited immensely from my circles over the years — and anyone who’s collaborated with Caryn Lavernia Tania Alonso can attest to that. This isn't just about building companies. It's about building legacies.

𝟑𝐀𝐌 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬: 𝐀 𝐋𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐌𝐲 𝐃𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐭𝐬: Last night, I found my business plan from 2017. Scribbled in the margins were all my "what ifs?": - What if I'm not ready? - What if I'm too old? - What if they laugh? - What if I fail? Seeing those notes now, I realize something… 𝐒𝐞𝐥𝐟-𝐝𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬 🧭 When it points to what scares us most, it's actually revealing what matters most. Every time I felt that knot in my stomach before a big decision, it wasn't warning me to stop – it was signaling that I was about to do something important. 🚀 Between writing Lab22c’s business plan in 2017 and launching in 2021, I wasn't stuck in limbo; I was becoming the founder my vision deserved. 𝐄𝐦𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 🧭 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐩𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 ⏱️, 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐰𝐧 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲.

🚀 𝗕𝗶𝗴 𝗡𝗲𝘄𝘀: 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝟮𝟮𝗰 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗗𝗼𝗗 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗺𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗔𝗺𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮! The Department of Defense Office of Small Business Programs in partnership with MoveAmerica.org and Lab22c is launching the Rapid Innovation Accelerator (RIA) initiative in Miami. Kudos to OSBP Director, Farooq Mitha and team for this initiative! This groundbreaking program, led by MoveAmerica as the prime contractor, is set to boost small business participation in the defense sector and drive economic growth in South Florida. With the support of DoD’s Mentor-Protégé Program and Florida APEX Accelerator, RIA will provide invaluable resources to help small and medium-sized businesses navigate federal contracting and develop cutting-edge technologies for defense. Lab22c is thrilled to bring in Purple Horizons (Ralph Quintero & Gianni D'Alerta 🔮) for critical and emerging tech expertise and Gazitua Letelier - Miami Lobbying Firm Luis Andre Gazitua for public affairs support on this project, ensuring Miami’s small businesses have access to top resources and mentorship. Together, we’re building Miami’s role as a national hub for small business growth, defense innovation, and economic impact. 🇺🇸 🚀

Breakthrough leadership requires leaders to evolve. Amazon founder, Jeff Bezos shares his concept of “disagree and commit”. The principle of ‘Disagree and commit’ means that leaders are: 1)Willing to support and commit to decisions that they didn’t agree with in the first instance. 2)Won’t second guess or snipe at that decision after the fact. The legacy concept of leadership & teams was driven by a hierarchy which prevented the best ideas from making it into execution, if the person in the leadership role was not open to supporting an opposing idea. The best companies and institutions we get to support at Lab22c are overwhelmingly places that embed this practice into their organizations. How are you incorporating a ‘disagree and commit’ mindset into your culture?
