70% of women are at risk for developing uterine fibroids, but many aren't being told about all their options. A hysterectomy has been the go-to treatment for a long time. However, that's major surgery and comes with a host of complications. Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE) is a safe, proven, and minimally invasive treatment for uterine fibroids. Hysterectomy is NOT your only option. Learn about UFE: https://lnkd.in/gvgmTD8

About us
Interventional radiology (IR) represents an exciting new frontier in disease and pain treatment. Today’s IR therapies are more precise, less invasive and more effective than ever… giving you and your doctor additional options to treat disease and restore you to optimal health. The premise of IR is simple: treat disease from the inside out, thereby minimizing physical trauma to the patient. IR procedures are now available for all of the body’s organ systems and present a viable alternative to the more invasive nature and greater risks of open surgery. At the Lakeland Vascular Institute, we do so much more than treat vascular disease and provide vascular access. We use the body’s vascular system—along with state-of-the-art imaging guidance—to reach the source of the problem and deliver precisely targeted therapy. Cancerous tumors. Spine fractures. Abdominal aortic aneurysms. Uterine fibroids. Obesity. Migraine headaches. And of course, vascular disease and access. These and many other health conditions can be treated faster, less expensively and with greater safety and accuracy than ever before.

Peripheral artery disease (PAD) refers to the narrowing of the “peripheral” arteries, which are blood vessels in the legs, arms, stomach and head. It happens to about 20% of Americans older than 65. If you're struggling with knee pain, it’s important to know that there are effective alternatives to surgery. One innovative option is Genicular Artery Embolization (GAE), a minimally invasive procedure that targets the source of your pain. GAE works by blocking the blood flow to the nerves responsible for pain, providing relief without the need for extensive surgery or recovery time. This means you can get back to your daily activities faster! Don't let knee pain hold you back. Explore your options and discuss GAE with our team! https://lnkd.in/g59Kfx9d

Knowing your risk for Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) and the symptoms are the best way to prevent the need for lower limb amputation. Risk factors include smoking, high blood pressure, diabetes/metabolic syndrome, family history, being overweight and being over 50 years of age. Common symptoms are leg pain, numbness, changes in skin color, and wounds that won't heal. PAD is often underdiagnosed, especially among women, and since symptoms are similar to other conditions, many don't think to get evaluated. If you notice any changes to your legs or are at risk, contact our team to learn how we treat PAD and avoid amputation: https://lnkd.in/gi4UGjk
