🌵❄️ Freeze Warning: There should be frost on the Cacti tonight! ❄️🌵 When freezing temperatures hit the desert, even our hardiest native plants, like the Saguaro, Agave, and Prickly Pear, can be vulnerable to frost damage. Here’s how to protect your desert plants during a cold snap: ❄️ Cover your Saguaros and Cacti: Wrap your Saguaros and other cacti with frost cloth, burlap, or blankets to protect them from the chill. Avoid plastic, which can trap moisture and cause harm. ❄️Water deeply: Watering your desert plants before a freeze helps insulate the roots and keeps them hydrated during the cold. Just be sure the water doesn’t freeze around the base! ❄️Mulch around the base: Apply a thick layer of mulch around native plants like Agave and Yucca to retain heat in the soil and protect the roots from frost. ❄️Shield smaller plants: Cover smaller native plants like Desert Marigold and Desert Willow with cloth or blankets to prevent frost damage to tender growth. ❄️Check for frost damage: After the freeze, check your plants for any frost-damaged areas. Gently remove any frost buildup to protect the plant’s surface. Even native desert plants need a little extra care when the freeze sets in! Keep them safe and warm. 🌵💚 #NativeDesertPlants #FreezeProtection #SaguaroCare #CactusProtection #DesertGardening #WinterInTheDesert 🌐 www.landtamers.com

Meet Nicholas Fowler, President of Landtamers Landscaping in Tucson, AZ! With a background at Amazon and experience assessing facility storm damage, Nick understands the importance of clear communication and responsiveness in our industry. He brings lots of commercial consumer perspective to SunWorks and he genuinely cares about our customers, whether it’s managing storm damage, creating dream backyards, or enhancing curb appeal. Nick’s favorite part of working at SunWorks is: "the ability to act like an owner, taking full responsibility for daily decisions and interactions, all while benefiting from the financial support and resources that SunWorks provides." Fun fact: Nick and his wife even filmed an episode of HGTV's "Hawaii Life" during their time in Hawaii! We’re lucky to have Nick as part of #teamsunworks! #landscaping #employeespotlight #sunworks #landscapingjobs

Wisdom Wednesday! 🌿 Spotted a white, sticky, cotton-like substance on your plants? It might be the work of cochineal bugs, aka mealybugs! 🐞 These pests often leave behind white spots, shiny wet areas, and even sooty mold. To treat them, try dabbing each bug with a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol or a light liquid soap and water treatment—it’ll help keep your plants healthy and pest-free! 🌱 Want to learn more? Let's chat! www.landtamers.com 520-733-0193 info@landtamers.com
