EXCLUSIVE: A recent review by Laptop Mag of the still-unpublished court transcript from the explosive Arm v. Qualcomm trial that ended two months ago reveals statements made by Arm CEO Rene Haas clarifying his company's role in the chip industry: "Qualcomm sells chips, and we don't." When further pressed by Qualcomm's attorney, Haas confirmed, "We don't build chips." Yet, the Financial Times, citing "people familiar with the UK-based group’s plans," reported last week that Arm is planning to make and sell its own silicon — a significant departure from its current strategy. The FT reported that the Arm chips would be part of a contract with Meta for use in data centers. By Madeline Ricchiuto

It remains to be seen if the new car smell still lingering on DeekSeek's latest models is masking the odor of misinformation surrounding how it developed its models and whether or not its pricing is sustainable in the long term.
OpenAI may face its stiffest competition yet with DeepSeek AI, but the AI model that seems to do so much right raises a strange amount of questions. For Laptop Mag, Rael Hornby explores the questions around the wildly popular, very new app that was #1 in the productivity category of the Apple App Store on Sunday.

The Samsung Electronics Galaxy S25 Ultra boasts a larger 6.9-inch display, a new custom Snapdragon 8 Elite chip, and a new 50MP ultra-wide camera, but that's not the headline. #AI is irrefutably the story of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra.
With the S25, Samsung might have cracked the code to be your "true AI companion"
